All real estate is local, and things in our state are certainly not the same as out in the coasts and some markets where real estate took a drastic hit. 
Prices did drop in Wisconsin, especially in the major metropolitan areas like Milwaukee, Racine and Madison.  However, many of the smaller communities and rural areas faired much better in the housing storm.

I don't know about you, but I am eagerly anticipating the return of fresh local produce. Everything is turning green, and the plants are popping up all over the garden. This time of year means that the opening of the local farmers markets is just around the corner. Monroe's Farmers Market opened this week. Last year, the Fowler Memorial Free Dental Clinic opened in the Human Services building of the Pleasant View Complex here in Monroe.  This clinic provides free dental care to lower income children:  xrays, cleanings, fillings, flouride treatment, and sealants.  This clinic serves a strong need in the area.  While finding a doctor who accepts patients on medicaid or Badgercare is realatively easy, finding a dentist who will accept new patients with this insurance is much more difficult.  Fowler Memorial serves a population that is otherwise underserved.
