Lily a 6 year old Great Dane lost her eyesight due to a rare disease. She became disheartened until she met Madison. They have been together for 5 years.
Madison guides Lily by the leash and touches her to make sure she doesn't stumble over anything. The picture reveals how dependent and loving they are to each other. THERE'S ALWAYS A LESSON OF LOVE TO LEARN FROM ALL ANIMALS ♥

pets: Caruso's Halloween Week ~ Protect Your Pets! - 10/25/11 02:03 PM

Halloween can be a traumatic and even dangerous time for your pets. Here are some common-sense tips to help protect & comfort your pets during Halloween.
Don't leave your pets out in the yard on Halloween: there are plenty of stories of vicious pranksters who have teased, injured, stolen, even killed pets on this night. Trick-or-treat candies are not for pets: chocolate is poisonous to a lot of animals, and tin foil and cellophane candy wrappers can be hazardous if swallowed. Be careful of pets around a lit pumpkin: pets may knock it over and cause a fire. Curious … (3 comments)

Looking for a loving pet to give as a holiday gift? Why not rescue one?
The Pet Rescue Center in Mission Viejo has numerous animals of all ages that need a new home. Today I am going to feature a sweet young Labrador Retriever that will melt your heart.
Marjorie is a black, female puppy that is house trained, purebred, good with kids and other animals, spayed, and has all her shots. When her family got divorced she lost her home and ended up at the rescue center. Do you know someone in Orange County who might want her?

pets: What if Puppies Could Stay as Puppies? - 09/26/09 03:58 PM

I don't have the time or inclination to look for a genetic breakthrough but wouldn't it be the coolest thing if puppies stayed puppies?
Imagine full time that puppy whimper, fluffy puppy fur, and that captivating puppy breath?  Not to mention the cute Take ‘em anywhere size!
Puppies simply capture the hearts of most people... but that 6 month to 2 year old period will try the patience of the worlds most calm person.
Thanks for making me Your Orange County Real Estate Connection.

pets: Trails Have Rules of Etiquette ~ Right? - 02/14/09 05:44 PM

Trails have to be shared...Hikers, Mountain Bikers and Equestrians all have access to trails that must be shared.  It can easily be done. You may want to think about some trail etiquette...
Hikers: You have the right of way over bikers, but please yield to equestrians.
Mountain Bikers: Here is the 411...you have the right of way over no one. End of story.
Equestrians: You have the right of way over hikers and mountain bikers.
Overall etiquette tips...be friendly, say hi to people, keep dogs on a leash, don't block a trail, pass on the left.

pets: Renting with Fluffy or Fido - 01/10/09 04:25 PM
Orange County residents have reported to have a harder time finding homes for rent that will allow their pets these days.  The San Francisco Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals recently suggested creating a resume for their animals when submitting applications to rent:
Provide the name, age, personality, size and breed. Including a photo may also be helpful. Give examples of how your pet will be cared for while you are away from home Let the landlord or management company know how you will clean up after your pet and attend to any vaccination or pest-control needs Tell a … (7 comments)

pets: Time for a Comeback for Large Families - 10/02/08 04:11 PM
Have you noticed the influx and popularity of reality television showcasing large families? I'm not talking about four kids and a few pets. I'm talking 8, 12 even 16 children!
It seems the common thread in these shows is that the family unit is the most important thing. Consistency and multitasking ensures everyone knows their place and that their contribution is vital and appreciated.
You don't see a lot of "Keeping Up With the Jones" type attitude in these families. They are just living their lives and doing the best they can. And they seem to be truly happy.

pets: Did You Pay Sales Tax on the Puppy or Kitten You Bought? - 04/15/08 11:34 PM
I bought my dog from a breeder and I sure don't remember paying any sales tax....
If I bought a puppy at one of the Mall pet stores, I bet I would have had the sales tax on my bill.  Did you know that breeders and pet stores should be charging sales tax on puppies and kittens bought there?  The state of California believes this tax has always been there and is launching a campaign to remind and encourage pet sellers to charge sales tax.  If a breeder or a pet store makes more that 2 sales a year, they should be … (5 comments)
