I Have A Question For You…
How much are you spending on marketing?
How much money are you giving away to 'experts' who know nothing more than how to 'market' YOU into handing over your hard earned money?
They are charging you $$$, so they must know what they are talking about, right?
WRONG!
If a website cost you $5,000 it just MUST be good for your business, right?
WRONG!

REALITY: It's just a website that cost you $5k. The 19 yr. … (4 comments)

This week we will be going back to your website to make some very important changes that will help put your website on the first page of Google SERPs (search engine results pages) almost overnight! In week 8 this will make a HUGE difference in website traffic for your business! So let’s get started!Let’s talk about the very first page that most people see when they visit your website. The first page (landing page or index page) of your website should not have a lot of information on it. It should be an introduction with a summary of your services and … (4 comments)

social networking: Rainy Day Special | 90% Off Social SEO Powered Websites - 06/14/11 06:20 PM
Finally! Today it is pouring out here in Port Saint Lucie Florida and WOW did we need it! As I am sitting here, I can hear the crackle of the thunderstorm and the rain pounding heavily on my roof. Just a few moments ago I sat outside watching the rain. That is until the wind decided to play dodge-ball with the drops of rain as its weapons. It’s so beautiful to watch the rain. The only draw-back is that I might actually have to mow the lawn soon… lol
Anyway, I actually started to write this post for a very important … (0 comments)

social networking: Nothing is gained without a system! - 11/05/10 05:58 AM

You have your foundation. You have spent some time building a conversation with potential clients through your blog. But, now the questions are… How do you get people (and robots) to READ your blog? How do you get people (and robots) to VISIT your website? How do people (and robots) know about either of them?
(This is part 4 of 4 - See Previous Post: Nothing is Said Without Emotion.)

The answer is social networking. To put it simply, it is business networking as you already know it, but on steroids.
You have already heard of many different … (9 comments)

social networking: Nothing is Said Without Emotion! - 11/05/10 05:57 AM

So what happens beyond a website on the internet? You have a solid foundation and now you need to get the word out so that potential clients can find your website. You need to place business signs and advertisements outside of your ‘foundation’ for people to be exposed to your marketing message. People need directions. In the same way, so do robots.
(This is part 3 of 4 - See Previous Post: Nothing is Built Without a Foundation.)
Let’s break this down for a second… In order to draw people to you… to your website…you need to let them know … (1 comments)

social networking: Nothing is Built Without a Foundation! - 11/05/10 05:56 AM

The foundation of all your marketing is your website. After all, your website is the cornerstone of everything that you do on the internet. It needs to attract and maintain attention.
(This is part 2 of 4 - See Previous Post: Sign of No Business.)

Let’s use this as an example: I could spend all the time in the world working with traditional marketing for a local ‘Fancy Italian Restaurant’: placing 10 ads, sending out 500 postcards, developing radio copy etc. etc. I could write about fine food, beautiful music and good atmosphere… but when people actually go there, open … (0 comments)

social networking: A Business Without a Sign is a Sign of No Business - 11/05/10 05:56 AM

Back in the small town where I grew up there was a small corner store that you probably would not have looked at twice. It was set-back from the road and barely even resembled a business of any kind. You would not even have given it a second glance if it had not been for a very large yellow sign that stood on the corner. I remember, even as a child, thinking to myself how much truth that sign spoke in just one sentence.
“A Business without a Sign is a Sign of No Business”
This was the town’s business … (12 comments)

social networking: WARNING... The Certified Social Media Expert is Lying! - 10/09/10 08:03 PM

I have been hearing a lot lately about 'Certified Social Media Experts'. It seems to be getting worse as time goes on and this is my rant about this phenomenon and how the NAR® has contributed to the mess.
The fact of the matter is that there is no Social Media, Social Networking or SEO certification. So, pretty much any 19 year old with a keyboard can claim they are an 'expert'. Yes, there are companies that 'offer certification', but I agree with Edward Lewis on this one. There are some of us that may be intellectually certifiable, but if someone tells you … (8 comments)

REALITY: It's just a website that cost you $5k. The 19 yr. old 'expert' that built it doesn't know a thing about marketing. He just knew how to sell you a fancy website.

In this post I will show you how to add your own ‘Follow Me’ buttons to several popular social networks and your blog.
Yes, the images are hosted on my site. If you would like to change that then please feel free.

social networking: Social Networking for Mortgage Professionals - 07/13/10 04:42 PM

Recently we kicked off the first week of Social Networking for Real Estate agents and I have been approached to create a similar Boot Camp for mortgage professionals. This blog post explains a little about how this 8 week boot camp can increase your online exposure and bring you more leads!
I am currently also putting together an FAQ for both of these Boot Camps, however the question that I receive most is “Can I get this on recording?”
The answer is no. Simply, because this is not a typical ‘webinar’ based training session. You will be teamed up with … (2 comments)

social networking: Real Estate: Getting more Leads with SEO and Social Networking - 05/04/10 11:18 AM

In order to compete with other  real estate agents in your farming area, to bring in a targeted audience of potential buyers/sellers and more importantly to generate LEADS, it is essential that you have an online real estate social network marketing strategy that will help you achieve your goals. One of the biggest challenges of getting your strategy to work for you is knowing where to start. Getting started is a big task but definitely something you can do on your own. Let’s make this a bit easier and break it up into 3 steps.

Step 1. DIY Search Engine Optimization … (0 comments)

social networking: Facebook: Fan Page Change… What??? - 04/27/10 08:26 PM
Recently, Facebook made changes to Fan pages which affect the way that people, brands, public figures, topics, etc. are connected as it relates to pages on Facebook. With these changes comes the introduction of Community pages and new restrictions set forth on what are now ‘Official Pages’.
(Yes, I know I wasn’t sure in my last post on the subject of ‘Official Pages’ however it’s now… well… ‘Official’)

What used to be ‘Fan Pages’ have now become ‘Official Pages’ or 'Community pages'. 'Official Pages' are now restricted to being created by authorized representatives of an entity, while 'Community … (8 comments)

Looking to dominate Google Search engine results for your real estate business?I am about to share with you 5 of my darkest secrets. (Ok they are not 'really' dark secrets but it sounds better than 'tips') But, before we go any further I must remind you that Search Engine Marketing and funneling more traffic to your site is NOT about tricking the search engines, it is NOT about how much you can pay per click and it is NOT how many websites link to your website. At the end of the day, it is about how well you optimize your website for visitors … (9 comments)

Another reason I love active rain! I just spent about 15 minutes setting up a new twitter feed to add my active rain & other blog posts to twitter. I came back to AR to add the code to display my tweets and THERE IT WAS... a simple 2 second solution to add AR posts to Twitter..

social networking: Something Strange is Going On - 05/08/08 02:18 PM
There is no denying that there is something very strange going on in America today. I am not talking about politics, the price of gas, or the economy.  What I am talking about is a little bit closer to home and much more influential upon our future... In fact, if you're reading this, you are partaking in it and it is affecting your future right now.
Conceived in the 1960's by the scientific and academic need to communicate in the event of a catastrophic event; borne in 1990 of the idea of interconnecting computers to share and document evolving information; the Internet … (3 comments)
