things to do in va: Do Sheep Count People When They Need To Go To Sleep? - 10/18/13 07:11 PM

If so then these sheep at George Washington's Mount Vernon Estate have plenty to count.  One of the nice things about having an annual pass to Mount Vernon is getting to stop by to enjoy the view and check on the animals at the Pioneer Farm.
These guys were oblivious to the throngs of school children who were on site this week.  Must be nice to be able to get a few zzzzz's in the middle of the day.

It is happening every day in dark alleys throughout Northern Virginia. No not muggings but FUN! How can it be? Back in the day bowling alleys had the reputation of being smoke filled buildings with greasy fries and hot dogs as the main attraction. My dad wouldn't let … (4 comments)

things to do in va: Hi Mr. Jefferson Thanks For Letting Us Stop By Your House - 05/13/12 04:49 PM
This weekend was a chance for a little R&R in the Virginia Countryside.  Headed to Charlottsville and enjoyed wandering the grounds at Monticello with my 5 year old granddaugther.  She had studied Thomas Jefferson in her Colorado kindergarden this year and was excited to get the chance to visit his house.
She's headed home with pictures to share with her class and said the biggest thrill was walking underneath the house through the tunnels.  Considering she had a major fall just a few days before and her face was bruised and swollen she was a trooper.  Best Mother's Day ever!
