colorado springs: You or your sellers can buy brand new major appliances for ⅓ off IF... - 10/17/11 10:53 AM
How often have you had a seller that desperately needed to buy a new stove? Too often! But major appliances aren’t cheap and sellers are reluctant to buy something they will never use (or at least not use for long). Then there is the magic $1,000 physiological threshold. Trying to get sellers to spend more than $1,000 on something is tough. But you don’t want them buying some cheap stove that doesn’t look fit for a Barbie playhouse. So what do you do?My wife and I got tired of cleaning our gas stove. It came with the house we bought last … (1 comments)

colorado springs: Colorado Springs, Briargate area, Chapel Hills Mall, Jimmy John’s - 10/15/11 06:47 PM
The northern half of Colorado Springs is a fantastic place to live with two minor exceptions. There are a limited number of gas stations and fast food establishments. That makes it too easy to burn out on the eating places that are nearby. But, stop the presses, we are getting another favorite in the neighborhood. There has been a boarded up fast food place out on the perimeter of Chapel Hills Mall. And today when I drove by a sign was up that got me excited ( I’m so easy to please :-) ).         Yes, our favorite sandwich restaurant, … (0 comments)

colorado springs: Can you find the answer - right now? - 10/08/11 07:42 PM
Can you find the answer - right now?In the real estate business we are supposed to be walking encyclopedias and almanacs. Smart-phones and tablets have given us mobile access to the web but how do we find answers quickly? Sometimes the simple Google search just doesn’t do the trick. Here are some tips:# 1 Use the ~ before word for the word and it’s synonyms, such as   ~flooring.# 2 Search for "better than" or alternative or "reminds me of" with your keyword to find similar or better items. # 3 While most of our thinking is word related, sometimes I need to … (1 comments)

Colorado Springs ~ Cripple creek ~ Victor ~ The Aspen are quaking

One of the advantages of this profession is the ability occasionally to just skip town for a day. And from Colorado Springs we have a lot of choices on where to go. But this time of year it is all about heading to higher elevations to see and hear the Aspen quaking. At this point in the season they are still just turning at the lower elevations, 6,000 to 8,500 feet, so it helps to head for the high country, 8,500 feet to 10,000 feet. So my … (7 comments)

colorado springs: Tips for adding more wood flooring to your house - 09/29/11 10:01 PM
Tips for adding more wood flooring to your house
My wife and I are big fans of wood floors. When we bought another house last year it had wood flooring in the entry, hall, kitchen and breakfast room. The living room was carpet as was the dining room. With three young grandsons living close by and visiting often, carpet in the dining room wasn’t working.
So we had additional wood floor for the living and dining room feathered in to match the rest of the house. Today we got our final coat of Polyurethane and can move furniture back in tomorrow. … (2 comments)
