The Wyoming State Parks, Historic Sites and Trails in partnership with the City of Cheyenne will be hosting the 3rd Annual Ice Festival on Saturday, January 22 from 10 am to 3 pm and they need volunteers!
The Ice Festival will include events to show Cheyenne's youth how much fun they can have outside such as igloo building, sledding, ice climbing, sled-dog races, cannons, archery, hot chocolate, snowmobiles and more!
This event will take place on the lawn in front of the State Museum located at 2301 Central Avenue.

Built in 1872, the Wyoming Territorial Prison was restored and renovated the 1990's by the efforts of the citizens of Laramie. There were at least 12 woman housed there and more than 1,000 men; Butch Cassidy being the most famous guest.

Prison Museum - Ran as a Territorial Prison until 1890 when Wyoming became a state. In 1890, the facility was reorganized as the Wyoming State Penitentiary for 30 years and held notorious outlawas like Dan Parker, Clark "the Kid" Pelton and Ellijah Canary. The prison became a stock farm for the University of Wyoming in 1903 when inmates were transferred

It's not too late to grab your lawn chairs, sit back and enjoy a movie in Lions Park. The Cheyenne Parks and Recreation event is sponsored by Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, which provides the movie equipment, and Bresnan Communications, which provides the movies. Held at the Lions Park Amphitheater, this is a free event for all.
This free event is held every Tuesday at sundown through August 17th (but no movie on July 27th). Participants are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs and be prepared for changes in weather during these movies. Donations are accepted for outlying costs for staffing.
