pueblo west events: New Source for Trees/Shrubs – Call Before You Dig – Pueblo West Clean-Up - 05/29/09 12:44 PM
Nan Black, landscape consultant extraordinaire (719-545-2098) who is helping me plan out my next round of landscaping, told me that a GREAT source for trees and shrubs, is Continental Tree Farms, Inc. at 48300 Forest Park Rd in Avondale (719-947-3090).  To get there, take highway 50 east, past the airport, past the depot exit and turn right on Avondale Blvd and then left on Forest Park Rd. John Guadagnoli helped me pick out some GREAT trees and shrubs.  There is a huge selection (as in acres and acres) and the prices are VERY reasonable.
Remember, if you are going to dig … (0 comments)

pueblo west events: Colorado Home Away From Home, Senior Water Aerobics and Life With the Combat Veteran - 03/20/09 12:27 PM
I have to say, I find this whole concept of unknown people reading my blog just quite amazing!
I had gotten a call from the owner of Colorado Home Away From Home, which is a transitional housing venue right here in Pueblo West (see: http://www.coloradohomeawayfromhome.com/).  Now, I've stayed in some pretty fancy digs (like that time I stayed in the Marina Del Rey Ritz-Carlton in my pre-real estate days while working as a computer security consultant or some fancy-schmancy time shares around the world).  But, I have to say that NONE of those can touch the elegant comfort you can find at the … (0 comments)

With all the natural disasters occurring lately due to hurricane and rising water in other parts of the country, I've thought about what would happen if a weather or fire emergency occurred here in Pueblo West.  In addition to calling your insurance company BEFORE a problem arises to make sure that your insurance coverage is adequate, it is a good idea to have a record of all of your personal belongings.  "Know Your Stuff" is a free software program offered by the Insurance Information Institute.  You can download the software from http://www.knowyourstuff.org.  This software allows you to create a room-by-room inventory … (0 comments)
