Ted Swoboda of Swoboda Images did it again. He climbed to the top of Mt. Baldy over looking the beautiful town of Saugatuck, Michigan.
Perched high above the harbor, Ted snapped some wonderful images of this years fireworks.
Saugatuck has three fireworks displays throughout the year and Ted is over gracious enough to send these photos to his friends. (Glad I'm one of them.)
My bride and I enjoyed the fireworks from ground level at the harbors edge, it was an awesome display once again.
Take the time to visit Ted's web site for local photos, he does a fantastic job. Thanks … (40 comments)

michigan: Dee Dee Hanson Rained on me! Gifts of Appreciation - 05/15/08 02:35 PM

I wanted to thank Dee Dee Hanson for going above and beyond her call of duty. Dee Dee helped myself and another fellow Active Rainer, (Todd Pierantoni) out when we ran into a pinch. My fax machine has been down and Dee was gracious enough to come to our rescue. Todd, is located in Grand Rapids and Dee Dee is in the Saugatuck area. The option was to make a road trip to Grand Rapids, nearly a 40 minute ride or find a fax machine near by.
My first thought was fellow Active Rainer, Dee Dee. Todd, contacted Dee Dee and … (20 comments)

I have never met Robert "yet" I feel as if I know him personally.
Robert is a man of faith who loves and cherishes his Mom and daughters. He has paid some nice ThemThem tributes to each of them.
Robert and I have become the basket ball game of Active Rainers in Michigan, exchanging leads in our rankings almost daily. I know he motivates me to jump … (28 comments)

I wanted to share a caring, energetic individual with the Active Rain family.
Bruce Bylsma deserves a big ThemThem from myself. Bruce and his wife Jan both worked for me for quite a few years. The positive flow into our office during their time was unbelievable. They each made it a joy to go to work.
Bruce handled the sales team and implemented many programs to make the business run smooth. I was sad to see the day he moved on to Sable Homes in our area. The offer he received was one he couldn't turn down. I can still remember the day … (20 comments)

michigan: Check out this unique closing idea-Customer service A-1 - 04/16/08 12:04 PM

I recently was reading MiBiz (Michigan Business Magazine) and came across a unique marketing and customer service that Mr. Anthony Lambers provides to his clients for closings.
I've personally have never met Anthony, but find his services a unique idea in customer service. Anthony, is with United Financial Mortgage Services in Muskegon, Michigan.
Anthony makes the closing experience one to remember. The normal cold traditional closing is no longer an option when a customer deals with Anthony. What makes Anthony's service unique is each mortgage closing is held at CF Prime Chophouse & Wine Bar. "He has arranged for the restaurant to stay closed … (11 comments)

michigan: What happened to Spring? - 03/26/08 01:47 PM
It's been the shortest spring I ever recall.
With the start of spring last week, we enjoyed a day of "decent" weather only to be followed up by nearly 15" of lake effect snow on Friday evening.
The tulips were starting to peak out through the ground, hopefully they are tough enough to weather the Michigan climate.
I've seen a few robins that had made the early trip back home, I'm sure there are a few male birds getting their tails chewed at this point.
I heard on the weather report we can expect more snow tomorrow. Yippee.

Law Enforcement needs our help.
Department of Natural Resources investigators are looking for the person who shot and killed a Bald Eagle in Missaukee County's Enterprise Township, MI in February.   Investigators first thought the eagle was electrocuted because it was found below power lines.   Necropsy results came back this week and show the eagle was shot.   Anyone with information should call the DNR Poaching Hotline: 1-800-292-7800.    9 & 10's Ted Haller and Photojournalist Stephanie Adkins explain why the timing of the shooting could not be worse.
