ma: Spring in Malden, MA! Pearl Street Lilacs! - 05/18/14 05:55 PM
Spring in Malden, MA! Pearl Street Lilacs! Having lived on the East Coast and Europe the only thing I miss during Spring is the Lilacs. Here in Southern California I have not seen Lilacs since we have lived out here.

So it was a special treat to see the Lilac Bush blooming on this trip to Malden, MA. It bought back memories how much my mother used to enjoy and love the Lilacs! Having relocated to the Greater Los Angeles  17+ years ago this was a special treat for me

ma: Bike Share System:have you heard of it Beverly Hills & Santa Monica... - 04/17/14 05:52 PM
Bike Share System: have you heard of it?Beverly Hills & Santa Monica are considering it. Boston has it.
On my last trip to Boston, I have noticed that the “air” was clearer then on my previous visits and visibly there appeared to be less pollution.
How is that possible, I wondered and started looking around and discovered that all the Taxis were all Toyota Priuses or other electrically powered vehicles? The bulk of the vehicular traffic was underground and various parks were strategically created all over the city with greenery and more specifically Trees. This was complements of the “Big Dig”.

The Wired Puppy Specialty Coffee & Tea  on Newbury St in Boston, MA 02116. You might ask how did I discover this great Coffee Shop? Well it is what I call coincidence.

The night we arrived in Boston (3hrs late) thanks to a huge storm, we immediately went to the Hotel, where we have stayed the last couple of times: The Back Bay Sheraton. The waiter, whom I have known for over 20 years greeted us as old friends....anyway we scarfed some food down before the kitchen closed...Diane wanted to walk of the food. So we took a stroll … (5 comments)

Hudson Book Sellers: Logan Airport in Boston, MA the Holiday BOOK TREE
As most of you know book stores are few and far in between now days. Every time we travel we try to support all the Booksellers around the country. Needless to say we love the Hudson Book Store at LAX (Los Angeles International Airport).
Diane had to fly back to Boston, MA and on her way out of the Terminal she saw the Hudson Book Store and it was not a small little satellite store, rather it was a full size Book Store.
She snapped this picture and wanted … (16 comments)

Copley Place, Boston, MA: Wearable Art 2012

As most of you know we were in Boston, MA last month and as we were crossing thru the Copley Place we saw this great exhibit.  I just had to share.

Wearable Art 2012 consisted of a 36 piece exhibit featuring creative non-textile costumes, evening wear, and bridal wear. I am only going to post a few photos and might do another post later. Let me know if you can identify the material?

The collection was created by the fashion design students from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design

ma: This Saturday, March 17th is St Patrick’s Day! - 03/12/12 12:02 AM
This Saturday, March 17th is St Patrick’s Day!
St Patrick’s Day is largely celebrated by Irish-Americans. Having lived in Boston, MA for over 10 plus years I have learned to accept it, even though it is not a federal holiday in the United States,  in Boston it was treated as such. Alcoholic drinks and food would start around 11:30am and continue on until you ran out of energy or passed out. Most people celebrated St Patrick’s Day by wearing green clothing and drinking traditional “green beer” or other “green alcoholic” beverage.

Having relocated to Los Angeles, I have learned that … (12 comments)

James Hook & Co. est. 1925 Boston, MA

As some of you know I have relocated from Boston, MA to Los Angeles CA in the late 1990’s. I have been a Fan of James Hook since the late 1980’s. They have fresh Maine Lobster delivered daily. I could buy fresh lobster for around $4.99 a pound, not much has changed, now days you can buy it for anywhere from $5,99 to $7.99 a pound depending on size and time of year.
Since we moved out to Los Angeles, CA it has become tradition that if Diane goes back to visit … (10 comments)
