manchester ct: Endorsing An Active Rain Member! Joe Petrowsky of Right Trac Financial - 02/06/13 01:27 PM
Looking for a local banker, in Hartford County, who will take the time to explain the mortgage or refinance process to you?

I highly recommend Joe Petrwosky as a mortgage banker.  He understands the details and the importance of timing while working on a transaction team.
Client’s trust and confidence are important factors to have and I believe that Joe Petrowsky has these qualities and works to get the transaction closed, successfully.
I advise my clients to go through the preapproval process, prior to looking at homes.  You need to know your numbers and also, what programs that may be … (3 comments)

manchester ct: Wonderful, Simple Pleasures! - 12/29/12 05:15 PM
We have had dustings of snow, this winter season.  On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.  Today, however, we are having an old fashioned, snowstorm.  Remembering the days when my children were young and we would pack up my Chevy Blazer and find a hill to slide down or stop by a local skating pond.  No large expense, just enjoying the outdoors.  When we were young, my parents would tell us to come home, when the street lights came on.  Wonderful, simple pleasures!
This is Jack.  Happy to play in the snow.  He searched and searched, until he pulled this stick out of … (4 comments)

manchester ct: Christmas Popbys! - 12/12/12 08:44 AM
Every year, since I have been in the real estate business, I have provided my clients with poinsettia plants, during the month of December, for Christmas.  When I joined Buffini and Company, twelve years ago, Brian Buffini taught me how to enhance my deliveries.
Luckily, this year has been a warmer winter, than usual.  Leaving live plants on a porch for a short amount of time is okay, but, they do need to be indoors.  With the Buffini enhancement, I don't just leave the plants.  I try to arrive at each client's home and talk with them.  If they are not home, … (9 comments)

manchester ct: AR Meetup, Brought Out the Faithful! - 08/30/12 08:07 AM
We had a great weather day for our AR Meetup in Manchester, Ct, yesterday.  From 4pm thru 6pm, we laughed, joked and guessed at who may walk in the door at any moment.  We all understand how hectic and unplanned our days become, in this profession.  Today's market offers even more obstacles and we discussed those issues while enjoying very tasty pizza and Foxon Soda.  (This soda company uses pure cane sugar in their beverages:), along with many choices of flavors.  I had lemon ice, George had cola.  They offer birch beer, orange, root beer, creme and others.
Such a nice afternoon.  … (12 comments)

manchester ct: Thanksgiving Memories! - 11/27/11 11:23 AM
Cooking the bird, attending the Manchester Road Race, then, heading to the afternoon destination.  This year, my youngest Daughter, hosted our family holiday.  We had a warm and sunny, Thanksgiving Day this year.  It was great for the runners of the Turkey Race, in Manchester, Ct.  They had 15,000 participants!  Wow!  I have walked it, several times in the past years. My children and friends(who ran) would wait for me at the finish line on Main St, in front of St James Church. Still remember that hill by Highland Park Market.  Now, I am happy to join my friends and be a spectator.  The race … (7 comments)

manchester ct: The Autumn Nor'Easter Snowstorm in Connecticut! - 11/04/11 08:07 PM
You can't even imagine the chaos that is going on in our state.  Most of the traffic lights are out.  Trees are still on the wires and crossing over the streets.  Yes, sometimes, you drive under it and pray, because you have no choice.  The snow has, mostly, melted away. Our Governor, the Honorable Dannel Malloy, has been offering updates daily on the progress of the cleanup/cleanout.  We have ninety-one shelters set up, so far.  He, also, has the man from Connecticut Light and Power updating us.  They have brought in out of state/country, linemen and now, the Connecticut National Guard to work … (7 comments)

manchester ct: Happy 100th Birthday, Chevrolet! - 11/03/11 08:08 PM

inShare   Many of us have enjoyed driving or riding in, Chevrolet's. I had a Ford Mustang and I do believe that it drove my boyfriend, crazy. So, my second car was a Camaro that I special ordered from Tom Walsh at Grody Chevrolet in West Hartford, Connecticut. He was my boyfriend's Dad and a really good person. He was so helpful and patient with me, while I was deciding on engine size, color of the exterior, interior, wheel choices, tire size, etc. It was really fun to order a car, back in 1971! You could choose which size gears, rear … (4 comments)

manchester ct: Still, No Power! - 11/01/11 09:36 AM
I am at Sam's Club in Manchester, Connecticut, using their free ATT internet access.  Paying my bills online and catching up with my online life:)

Been roughing it for a couple of days.  The snow that we received on Saturday into Sunday was more than we expected.  10 inches of beautiful white snow.  Yes, it is a beautiful sight to see.  However, it was a heavy, wet snow that caused tress to fall, branches to split and it will be weeks before we are back to any kind of normal.   Daytime reaches high 40's, melts the snow and freezes on … (8 comments)

manchester ct: Let's Go Shopping, Home Shopping! - 10/27/11 09:42 AM
With the holidays coming soon, we are being hit with the ads.  On the internet, on television and yes, even snail mail has increased. Looking forward to holiday sales?  What about home shopping sales?

Certainly, there is an awesome sale going on!  The interest rates and repayment terms have greatly, improved.  The inventory is huge!  Many of the homes have been updated and improved, too!  Some of the homes, may even offer coupons!  You could think of it as a lay away purchase, that you are able to live in and enjoy while you are making the payments!
Make a list!

manchester ct: Tag Sale at Lowe's in Manchester, Ct Today! - 09/18/11 01:05 PM
As I approached the store, this morning, I didn't realize that a Tag Sale was going on.  A young man greeted  me, as I entered the store, but, I thought he was just welcoming me to the store.  After I made my purchases, I discovered the Tag Sale, when I walked outdoors.  There are several entrances to this store, so, if you were not looking, you would not have noticed this area filled with merchandise that had been marked down.  I always advise my clients to shop at Lowe's for their appliances.  They offer good prices and discounts, year round.
I was able … (1 comments)

manchester ct: In Church, This Morning... - 09/18/11 10:33 AM
On this beautiful, autumn like day, Mass this morning was well attended.  The Mass was at 7:30am and most parisheners were on time.  However, due to the Manchester Oldies Car Show on Main Street, in Manchester, parking was a bit of a challenge.  Yes, at 7:00 am, they were already taking spaces, on the street,  for the show.  My Church, is St. James Church on 896 Main Street in Manchester, Ct. It is a Roman Catholic Church.  Our community, also, includes a school, which my children, attended and graduated from.  When they were young, I taught CCD class for our parish.

manchester ct: Happy Father's Day! - 06/19/11 05:45 PM
Just a wish, for Dad's and grateful kids, to enjoy this special day!
My Dad was an excellent cook, great to have a catch with and we did many projects together.  He could sew, cook, clean, paint, work on cars, and fix just about anything that he touched. Some of my best childhood memories are those silly days that I spent with my Dad, just working on yard stuff:)  He was always up to something and seemed to need my help with whatever project he had planned to work on.
I thank my Dad, for all those moments of sharing, teaching me … (5 comments)

manchester ct: End of Year Thoughts - 11/04/09 10:07 AM
Just a short post.
As I start into my 24th year in the business, I am reflecting on what has worked for me so far, as well as what I expect will help grow my business in the future. In a referral based industry, such as real estate, there is no larger contributor to success than the people you know.
I just wanted to send a quick THANK YOU to everyone who helped build my business over the past 23 years and I hope I can count on you for many more years to come.
Looking forward to a successful 2010!
