venture realty international: FAQs - What Do You Mean by 'Ex-Pat' Communities? - 06/08/13 08:12 AM
First I should explain the term "expatriate" which is often shortened to ex-pat or expat.
An expatriate is a person who is living somewhere that is different from the culture and/or the country of citizenship or where they were raised. Often the term is used in a professional sense for employees of companies on long term assignments in different countries.  Recent trends for many retirees and telecommuters to move to different countries has increased the usage of the word.
There are no formal requirements which determine an expatriate.  Some countries do have laws defining expatriates for tax purposes or for … (7 comments)

venture realty international: FAQs - Who Should Not Consider Buying in Latin America? - 06/07/13 03:20 PM
Maybe you should not be considering Latin America as a place to buy.
As much as I love Latin America, I am the first to point out that it is not the place for everyone to live or visit. Some people will be completely unhappy if they leave their old neighborhood, friends and family.
Some communities have lots of people from the US and/or Canada and these communities may be completely different from the Latin American atmosphere that you expect. Although some of these neighborhoods in Latin America may seem almost like the old neighborhood, they are still quite a distance … (6 comments)

venture realty international: FAQs - What About Medical Care in Latin America? - 06/07/13 07:51 AM

One of the most important concerns that I hear about living or even visiting countries is about medical care.  Everyone asks:  Can I get medical care?  How good is the medical care?  How much does it cost?
There is excellent medical care available in Latin America.  The prices are low and the care is outstanding.  In most countries, the cost of care is ⅓ to ⅕ the price that you will incur in the US.  And Cuba is even 96% cheaper than the US.

Did you know that medical care in the US is the world’s highest … (2 comments)

venture realty international: FAQ - Safety In Mexico and the Rest of Latin America - 06/06/13 08:35 AM
One of the first questions that I hear about Latin America is: "How safe will I be if I travel to a country in Latin America?"
Naturally safety is important to all of us and we are constantly reading things in the mainstream media and hearing stories from friends and acquaintances.  Almost every article or story relates some horrible tale.  You just don't hear many of the good stories.  Millions of citizens form the US and Canada visit other countries all the time with no problems but any time there is an incident it receives our full attention.
I strongly believe … (3 comments)

venture realty international: SEO and Your Images - 02/07/12 11:10 PM
Have you stopped and considered SEO and Your Images?
One of the most important things about writing for the web is to remember to write for the viewer and not just for the search engine.  It is critical to have a visually appealing site or your viewer will leave and probably never return. If you only use text, your page is not going to be very interesting so you should add pictures and/or images.
But search engines are not able to interpret your images. In a sense the search engine is just like a non-visual human browsing the web.

venture realty international: Lynn B. Friedman - Look What She Has Done in the Rain - 02/06/12 10:11 PM
You may recognize Lynn B. Friedman because she has given a lot of her time and energy to create the 2012 Big Jumpstart Blog Challenge.
I met Lynn by reading a comment she made about a year ago. I went to her blog to see if I liked her posts with the idea that if they were as good as the comment I would subscribe.
To my surprise, she had not written any posts.  I then looked at some of the other comments she had written on various posts and they were all thoughtful and well written. I subscribed … (8 comments)

venture realty international: From a Comment to a Subscription - 02/04/12 08:47 PM
There are many ways to meet interesting people and in this case I met Nancy Hankin by reading one of her comments.
The comment was fantastic and then I found that her posts were very interesting so I subscribed to her blog.

I like the way that Nancy describes herself as "In the People Business Since 1965 Using Old Fashioned Service with New Fashioned Technology!"

I've often felt too many people feel you have to choose between technology and giving people oriented service.  I also feel that a lot of agents feel that you must be in … (13 comments)
