2014 marks the fourth year that The Greenbrier will be holding its “Dream Tree for Kids” holiday gift drive, which will donate more than $1 million in toys to charity. 
The "Create a Dream Tree for Kids" project is the brainchild of The Greenbrier's owner Jim Justice, who initiated the massive holiday drive two years ago with his own donations, with the goal of ensuring that children throughout West Virginia and beyond wake up on Christmas morning with at least one gift to unwrap.

I visited the Alan Anderson's Trunk Show at the Greenbrier on Friday.  Alan, designer of magnificent jewelry trees and other fabulous jeweled creations was making designs when I arrived.  The one he had just completed was a beautiful jewel box.

He had so many creations to see and some vintage jewelry. Below are a few items

I was driving to one of my listings today in White Sulphur Springs and noticed there were still a lot of Christmas lights on.  So, I started wondering when do most people take their lights down.  It is so pretty seeing all the lights shining so bright and it would be nice to see this every day of the year and just not during Christmas.

The Greenbrier is offering a fun way to support local non-profit organizations through its Casino Charity Weekend, March 16-17.  Greenbrier Valley Theatre (GVT) is one of four local organizations participating in the event, which allows individuals to purchase weekend casino passes for $20, a fee that goes straight to the theatre.

The Greenbrier’s 2nd Annual Winterfest Weekend, January 6-8, will feature nationally recognized ice carvers vying in individual and team carving competitions. While at the Greenbrier on Christmas Eve, my guests and I happened to park at the North Entrance....and so glad we did!  We found this beautiful ice sculpture of a sleigh and reindeer.  I was informed that the members of the Culinary Brigade at the Greenbrier carved the ice sculpture on December 24th and it took them four hours.

Are you ready for singing, dancing and holiday cheer?   If so, check out The Greenbrier’s Musical Merry Christmas…. a live, musical revue featuring a medley of modern favorites along with classic songs from Christmas past.  

My husband, Claude, and I attended the musical on Friday night and we were delighted in hearing holiday favorites like "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," "White Christmas" and "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" along with some fun twists on the holiday theme.
