Did you ever hear someone tell you to do as I say and not as I do?  I’m hear to do tsomething similar.  Last year when Bobby Jenks, the closer for the White Sox, was traded to Barbara Todaro’s Red Sox, I immediately logged into my SendOutCards account and sent him and his wife Adele the coolest card with a box of brownies in hopes of getting an opportunity to sell his home.Time went by and I never heard as much as a thank you for the card or the brownies.  Needless to say I didn’t get an interview … (12 comments)

 For years it has been drummed into my head to be like Peter Falk's character Columbo that when ever your ending a conversation to stop and say "Oh by the way, I'm never too busy for your referrals" in the same way that he would say "just one more thing" when he was about to nab the bad guy.

Yesterday I wrote about my experience at a local coffee shop while blogging about the American Dream or lack of it.  Jenny Durling responded that my good deeds might come back to me.  Well that Jenny is pretty smart and it did come back to me or at least a blue print on better work ethics.
