north myrtle beach sc: Coastal Carolina - Brunswick County NC is the best kept secrete on the coast - 12/31/09 08:40 PM
It was reported in the Brunswick Beacon that Brunswick County was the 37th fastest growing county in the country during 2009. The population grew by 41% between 2000 and 2008. A large percentage but small number. Cencus Bureau numbers released last week estimate the population at 103,160. Growth during the period was estimated at 30,017. During the recent downturn- the population grew 4.2% from 2007 to 2008.
Brunswick has many reasons for growth. The cost of living is very low according to many that have moved here. Taxes for the entire year are often less than those of 2 months from where they … (2 comments)

north myrtle beach sc: Has Real Estate Bottomed? - 11/05/09 10:50 PM
Has Real Estate Finally Hit the Bottom?       The REAL question is "Should you really care?".
Sellers - Sellers need to decide if it makes a difference to them, if they have another choice, If it is better to hang on until maybe the 2nd quarter of 20??. Divorce, job transfer, retirement, and a host of other reasons could have sellers deciding it makes no difference as outside circumstances can have sellers feeling they have no choice or it makes no difference. They simply decided to sell. Many believe it will be better to 'hang on' until prices rise. Under some … (0 comments)

north myrtle beach sc: HandyMan - HubbardHelper along the Coastal Carolinas - 10/25/09 07:52 PM
Some years ago my daughter introduced me to a friend of hers. He decided to become my 'go-fer' on many projects. He helped on small and large projects. He really enjoyed working with his hands and learning. He quickly became 'helper'.
Around 2002 the company he worked for moved operations west. That seemed just too far from NW Pa/NE Oh. He decided to use the skills he had learned and work for himself. He would do anything he felt comfortable his skill level made possible to do a great job. Good- yes BUT,,, he is a perfectionist. He did lawn work, … (0 comments)

north myrtle beach sc: The Time to BUILD near the BEACH and GOLF is now! - 10/04/09 08:53 PM
Why build now? The list of reasons is extensive but a few major ones contribute to your bottom line.
Contractors are NOT busy! Contractors are looking for work. Sub-contractors and tradesmen are bidding against each other looking for any work available. Not only will you get lower prices but without a back log of work the quality of workmanship may be better as well.
No major weather impacts! There have been no major disasters that caused a run on building materials. The recent rise in building has not put a dent into the inventory of materials. A little time spent on items … (0 comments)
