Sandhurst in Charleston, SC - Yard of the Month - April 2011
Look close, the "Yard of the Month" sign is discreetly tucked away in the landscaping.  This yard is amazing all year long, not just this month.  Every season, a new splash of flowers are planted.  This season, the Easter Lilys in the entrance planters add a special touch.

This home is not for sale, that I know of.  I can show you a similar property in Sandhurst.

joye ridgeway: Alessi - Tampa's best Bakery since 1912 - 01/14/11 06:05 PM
Alessi  - Tampa's best bakery since 1912
Of course, that's MY OPINION, that Alessi is Tampa's best bakery since 1912. It is a tradition of a lifetime for my almost-sixty-year old husband !  Alessi is always a stopping point whenever visiting Tampa.  The tradition began for me in the late 1970's.  As departing Tampa, a stop by Alessi's to pick up Cuban sandwiches "for the road" was always a must.  Now, in the times of the internet, I read rave reviews about Alessi's Cuban sandwiches.  The last time I was in Tampa, I capured a few colorful images of Allessi's creations.  These edibles are ART !!

Charleston Widow's Walk and Rooftop Sun porch - Wordless Wednesday
Just a typical scene downtown Charleston, SC.  Story goes that the wives of departed seagoing loved ones would go to the observation windows to watch for the ships to arrive at the Port of Charleston.  When loved ones did not return, the walk to the windows became known as the "Widow's Walk".

Charleston's Historic Windows -"9 over 9's" and "12 over 12's"
What a rare find.....a house with both "9 over 9" and "12 over 12" windows.  The twelve over twelve's are only found in Charleston's oldest homes.  Seldom do you see an example of both "9 over 9" and "12 over 12" in one setting.  These types of windows were circa 1879 and can be sighted around downtown Charleston.

Can you count the panes ?  Two sashes of twelve panes = 12 over 12.
