I know our City guys are out there working very hard to clean up after the storm. There is still a long way to go. I'm glad they finally posted a schedule so we at least have an idea when they will be working in our neighborhood. Thank you City of Aiken for sharing the schedule with us.

winter: Winter Storm Pax hit my town hard.
- 02/26/14 04:55 PM
It looks like a wrecking ball went through town. So many big old trees were lost in the recent ice storm. Clean up is underway, but there is a long way to go.
Here is a big tree that my neighbor lost.
We have a beautiful street in town bordered by Live Oaks that form a shady canopy. South Boundary Avenue.

winter: Snow?! I moved South to get away from snow, lol.
- 01/28/14 04:06 PM
Every once in awhile we get a freak snowstorm down here in the sunny south. We're in the middle of a storm right now. Currently it is freezing rain, but snow is expected - up to 3" in some areas! That is a lot of snow for down here! Everyone be careful out there. If you don't have to go out - don't!
Happy Snow Day! (if we do have a snow day, I'll post some pictures tomorrow)
Thanks for stopping by,

winter: Southern Snow - February 12, 2010. Aiken SC
- 02/14/10 07:25 PM
It was a Winter Wonderland in Aiken, SC - I say 'was' because the snow is pretty much all gone - except for the shady areas. We had approx 4-5 inches here in downtown Aiken - which is VERY unusual. There is a meterological reason as to why Aiken doesn't get much snow. I'll be writing about that soon. This storm was great! I loved it. Here are some pics of our little town - covered in snow.
it's a blizzard!!
next morning --soooo pretty - check it out! :
