lisa long: More on Kevin/More Prayers - 09/15/08 09:09 AM
This Just came in from Kevin's Parents:
Just wanted to let everyone know that Kevin is still doing great. He went back to UCLA Friday for his chemo treatment and was supposed to come home today but they are keeping him because is toxin level is high. His Dr. has been at a seminar for Lymphoma over the weekend and we look forward to him coming back so we can talk to him more about Kevin. They did have some other results come in on the PET scan and said he may have some activity in his spine and possibly his … (1 comments)

lisa long: Praise Report Kevin - 09/14/08 12:02 PM
I just want to thank the Lord for hearing all our prayers! My nephew Kevin who is being treated for Burkitts, an aggressive cancer is doing very well. Hes tired and lost about 10 pounds but that is the worst of it so far. He has had several rounds of chemo but had to have a strong 24 hour round the other day and we expected him to be sick, but he came though, Jesus is watching over him. Thank you everyone for your prayers.

lisa long: Keep Praying for Kevin - 09/08/08 10:52 AM
This is an update as of sept 4th
Good news! We received the results of Kevins 2 CT scans today and they were negative. That means they did not see any enlarged lymph glands or tumors anywhere else. We are still waiting for his bone marrow results and the results of his PT scan which shows the active cancer cells and where they are located.  Kevin started his Chemo last night and so far feels fine. They will also be starting chemo on his spinal and brain fluid as Burkitts is known to attack these areas, so they start the chemo whether … (2 comments)

lisa long: Another Happy Client - 09/08/08 10:22 AM
I wanted to share an email I received from a client of mine. It's always nice to be appreciated and recognized for the service we provide.
"I can't thank Lisa enough for all that she did to help us with our home purchase.  She was always on top of everything and communicated with us daily to keep us informed.  She was very professional, yet always personable and down to earth.  She even made the home buying experience easier on my children who were tired of being dragged everywhere!  It is so nice to find an agent who is honest and hardworking. "

lisa long: New group making way! - 08/22/08 11:25 PM
It is slow going starting a blog group. I though you put it out there and and they will come. So far there are a few bloggeres but I would like to have a  steady flow of blogging. My group is pretty much any thing Real Estate or anything else on your mind as long as your not breaking any of those AR rules. Who makes theses any ways? The Group is Open to anyone who has anything to say or has advice to offer. It can be about You or Me or Anything Real Estate. The most important thing is … (3 comments)

lisa long: Re-evaluate your Reasons for Real Estate - 08/22/08 10:28 PM
Reevaluate your reasons for Real Estate. The market is not was it was a few years ago, but for those willing to work for their money there is a living to be made. For me it's the thrill of finally finding the right house for my client. I love the challenge of it all. There are so many houses on the market that are not in good repair that it pays to know the inventory and it pays to know what your clients are willing to repair themselves. I love what I'm doing. It is such a great accomplishment when you find a … (4 comments)

lisa long: Do the Banks follow Any Rules when doing Short Sales - 08/16/08 11:33 PM
I had blogged a few days ago about a short sale that was going to the bank. Well unfortunately it did. It was not for a lack of trying, the listing agent and the escrow agent both did their part. It seems like the more I educate myself the faster the banks change their rules and for no apparent reason.
When there was no more room for negotiating (there was a first and a second) the other agent and myself took a cut in commission, there's more, we also agreed to contribute $1500 each to the second on top of the … (8 comments)

lisa long: The 11th Hour - 08/13/08 02:20 AM
Nothing like waiting until the last minute to close the deal. I have the Buyer in a short sale and after giving money and commission to the second we now have to wait for the first to sign off and extend the sale date. It is such a mind boggling process. We have been waiting months and now in the (almost) 11th hour, we wait. The house will go back to the bank on the 14th if the first doesn't get around to doing it sooner. This whole process just amazes me. I've decided its out of my hands.

lisa long: Free Credit Report Class*What We all Need To Know! - 08/12/08 11:41 PM

Who exactly needs to be educated on Credit? The simple answer is Everyone!
It is never too late or too early (teens are smart) to educate yourself. You don't have to be in financial trouble to do this.
My Office has an In-House Lender that recently held a class for all agents, friends,or clients.
What a great way to get new people in and help them understand if they are actually ready to buy or what they need to do in order to be ready. As an agent I sat in and learned a few things as … (6 comments)

lisa long: Pasos Olive Festival is almost here whats your recipe? - 08/11/08 11:42 PM
I thought I would share an easy dinner made with of course, Olive oil. I used cheese tortellini. I boiled them until just done. In the mean time I heated turkey meat balls in the micro-wave. I opened a jar of pesto sauce with yes, olive oil and fresh basil, its available at Cost Co. I tossed it in the cheese tortellini. Have some fresh french bread and a bag of salad. I bet from start to finish it was 20 minutes. Now I won't be entering in the cooking contest but I do plan on attending The Olive Festival on … (3 comments)

 RESPONSE TO SIX TIPS :
I have received so many blogs many are just supportive but more times they are contained with question. I responded to some privately, but it started to take a lot of time and a lot of the questions were similar. First off I live in California so my laws and rules may be different than yours, always check with your broker or someone in charge. QUESTION:  Everyone kept asking if the FSBO would be loyal and honor our agreement? For me I trust my instinct, If they took that one buyer It was only one … (2 comments)

lisa long: Open House Tips For FSBO - 08/08/08 12:18 PM
I will be holding an open house for a home owner over the holiday weekend. She was unsure and wanted to know, whyI would do this when the house was a FSBO?

Why would I spend my time and money when I don't even have the listing?
I said "you are cooperating with agents aren't you?" when she said yes, I said great. Then I can help you and to be honest you are helping me too. I would love to bring you a buyer! We talked a little bit about what I wanted her to do to … (5 comments)
