HEY!  Some Of My Best Friends Are Staging Professionals!!
In a very nice THANK YOU posted by Kristine Ginsburg, a talented staging pro and artful photographer in Morris County, NJ, Kristine mentioned that I had commented on her post, probably in a "less than complimentary" manner.
Why, why, why would I be less than complementary?   While I don't specifically recall that blog post or my comment, I'm fairly sure I commented as Kristine recalls.  Why I would have commented as I did.

WHERE DOES STAGING RANK IN IMPORTANCE WHEN LISTING A PROPERTY FOR SALE??
Jennifer ranks staging a home right after pricing it right.   That is, IMO, almost right.
What are the factors that help an owner sell their property??  I rank the factors as:
1.  Price it right.
2.  Give easy access.
3.  Make sure it is in showing condition.  THAT is where staging enters the scene.
Another important factor is one over which neither the owner, the listing agent or the staging pro has any control, LOCATION.  Location will affect the price.  Actually, location could affect the access (gravel road, public utilities, poorly … (10 comments)

WHY DO STAGERS COMPARE THEIR SERVICES TO HOME SELLERS TO THE SERVICES OF REAL ESTATE AGENTS?
WHO DO STAGERS COMPARE THEIR FEES TO THOSE OF REAL ESTATE BROKERAGES?  See:  The point is Not can-t-we-all-just-get-along-stagers-vs-realtors-vs-sellers-
I cannot find a single basis for comparing the relative services of these two disparate businesses beyond the fact that both services are performed for home sellers.  Of course, so are carpenters, painters, carpet companies, landscapers, HVAC servicing companies, etc., none of which even try to claim to be the cause of the sale of a property.
