Evaluating different towns and neighborhoods is important when shopping for a home. So where would you find crime statistics for Schaumburg? They have now begun using an online forum that lets you do just that. Crimemapping.com has begun being used in Schaumburg for more transparency between citizens and the police department.
Once on the site, click on the state and Schaumburg will be shown in the drop down menu.  Once the Schaumburg map comes up, there is a 'Crime Types' button (top left) that you can click on to decipher the different codes.

People always ask me “How many homes are selling?  Is the market getting better?" Well that seems to make a difference is what area or subdivision you live in.  It’s really not an evasive answer.  Each area and subdivision is totally different!  Here’s what I can tell you about the overall Schaumburg market –
Single Family Homes -  Schaumburg averages 46 home sales a month.  Inventory is down substantially.  The percentage of homes going under contract each month is 22 to 27%. Average Sold Price was $291,666 for the 2nd quarter of 2013.

Buyers can sometimes 'sabotage' themselves by not making timely decisions. 4)  Convenient to friends/family

Why don't Short Sales get marketed the same way as regular sellers?
This has been a pet peeve of mine for the last few years with many nice Schaumburg short sales not being marketed even 10% of what they could or should be. Very nice homes are sitting on the market because of a few listing agent short falls:

1)  Lack of pictures showing the home's best features
2)  Lack of staging advice not making the home show attractively
3)  No internet marketing

Ever take a moment to really think what has happened in recent years in the real estate market? The market that you live in, drive to work everyday through, the place that your kids call home. There has been a massive re-distribution of wealth right under your nose.  It's really quite staggering when I thought about it recently.
For one reason or another $165,212,962 (that's millions) worth of real estate has changed hands just in Schaumburg alone in 2012.
