But I digress.   Five words with regard the Google +1 Button:  Get One OnYour Website.
It’s an important part of getting found.

google: Google Webmaster Tools Are A MUST For Your Website - 11/08/11 07:36 PM
After a nightmare of a hack attack, my website is finally back up and running.  We went ahead and did a fresh redesign, as well:)   Thanks to some nice Google tools the process, while daunting, was at least a more smooth process and a tad easier.
Two words with regard to Google Analytics and Google Webmaster Tools: Use Them.
About a month ago, my website was hacked and subsequently flagged by Google for MalWare.   In the wake of trying to fix the problem, my good friends at MIND Development and Design said it was a good idea to go ahead with … (0 comments)

google: Do You Really NEED Google Plus For Your Business? Yes, But Probably Not For Reason You Think - 09/26/11 02:27 PM
I recently posted this as my status on Facebook: "Dear Facebook: You are to social media what Google is to search engines. Google has tried twice (and failed) to cut into your social media market share with Buzz and Wave. Now it's Google Plus. Google Plus is not a superior service, but with all your unnecessary, fear-based and aggravating changes in recent months you just might make Google Plus superior on your own. Stop panicking, for crying out loud and leave a good thing be for a while."
Yes, Facebook has made quite a few changes over the past months...many of … (4 comments)

google: Google Plus - A Lesson In Trial and Error - 09/19/11 02:14 PM

(This is a re-post for groups I couldn't include in the first post)
In your own SEO, Internet marketing and social media marketing efforts, it’s common to want to avoid the trial and error process that leads to real progress.   Much of the SEO and Internet marketing solutions offered online pander to this human tendency to want the reward without all the work.   If you ever feel yourself falling into that trap, there’s a great lesson to be learned from Google…and its failures.
In case you haven’t heard, Google has recently launched Google+, their social networking site that is trying to succeed where previous … (2 comments)

google: Your Website = Rome - 03/21/11 04:53 PM
Are you spending money on Internet marketing and finding yourself overwhelmed? Do you feel like you’re spinning your wheels and accomplishing little or nothing in terms of tangible results?
The old adage of keeping it simple is the key.   Clients know my simple philosophy by heart:  All roads lead to Rome…Rome being your website.
The ultimate goal is to earn business through your Internet and traditional marketing efforts…and it takes both.   And that’s where it gets confusing, thanks to the myriad “solutions” available online and the unfortunate promises they make in their sales pitches.
Always remember:  The purpose of your … (2 comments)

google: $600 For Your 15 Seconds of Fame...Are You Merely Spinning Your Marketing Wheels? - 09/29/10 03:18 PM
As if on cue, two weeks after my original post on marketing spam I received a solicitation and engaged in a dialogue which exposes a very common sales tactic that is causing much frustration, disappointment and wasted money on internet "marketing."
This is a bit of a long post, so I've included a link to the hair-raising video piece I recorded to accompany and explain it...and maybe save you a bit of time:     Click here to view the video piece
