Ranch Land Near Taos, The Neighborhoods of Santa Fe, New Mexico Blog Posted on August 11, 2011 by Michael Umphrey Ranch Land Near Taos, New Mexico-Mora County
Yesterday I took a trip to see a ranch owned by the famous Texans, Marshall Kuykendall and Bill Leonard.  I’d seen some photographs of it but wasn’t prepared to be stunned by the high mountain, pristine, 451 acre luxury spread near Taos, New Mexico.
It’s an 85 mile drive from my office in Santa Fe and you’ll go  through the village of Dixonand then through Sipapu Ski Resort.

The ranch borders 8,000 feet of the Kit Carson National Forest.  There are 6 Elk … (0 comments)

A Walk In The Woods- The Neighborhoods of Santa Fe, New Mexico Posted on June 7, 2011 by Michael Umphrey A Walk In The Woods-The Neighborhoods of Santa Fe, New Mexico No one can sprint for eight hours a day. I’ve learned that in order to make it through my 10-12 hour work days as a Realtor I need to work feverishly for a couple of hours and then take a short break. I thought I’d share with you just one of my favorite walks. It’s along the Santa Fe River on a private lane called Camino Pequeno( don’t tell anyone. … (1 comments)

A Moment at Farmer’s Market, Santa Fe, New Mexico Posted on May 30, 2011 by Michael Umphrey I’m waiting for my pruning sheers to be sharpened by a vendor at Farmer’s Market so I came to my office next door to post this video I shot there this morning of Rich Hardy and Janice Mohr-Nelson playing “Sweet Wyoming Home”. The Neighborhoods of Santa Fe, New Mexico- Fish & Chips Posted on May 5, 2011 by Michael Umphrey

I took a quick walk for lunch today to The Second Street Brewery for the best Fish & Chips you will find anywhere.  My office is about 200 feet away and my house is about a block away.  I walked to work this morning hoping to take my first rail trip on the Rail Runner.  It’s been in operation for about two years and I thought I’d take the morning for a round-trip excursion.  When I got to the station I  determined that the sun was too low on … (5 comments)

santa fe: Michael Umphrey Finds a New Home at Barker Realty - 04/29/11 11:41 AM

Posted on April 29, 2011 by Michael Umphrey Michael Umphrey Finds a New Home at Barker Realty

I am pleased to announce that I’ve taken an important step in my career and have joined Barker Realty.
Barker Realty stands out as a medium-sized firm by design and maintains a personal and in-touch management style that is felt in every transaction that passes through the office. My choice of Barker Realty was based on the fact that Barker has made dramatic forward-thinking changes and is now one of the most progressive companies in town.  There is a reason why Barker Realty’s sales grew 34% … (0 comments)

Tonia's Monthly Teas-Santa Fe, New Mexico 87501

Soon to be in gorgeous abundance in Santa Fe are the blossoms of Springtime in The Rockies.  My wife, Tonia,  is hosting the festival Hunami, the viewing the cherry blossoms.    Bento box lunches, chilled sake, cherry blossom tea and special sweets are laid out on an eye-catching crimson red carpet of felt under a snow storm of blossoms.  The petals create a delicate pink carpet everywhere and a few may catch in the strands of your hair as you enjoy … (0 comments)

Don Cubero Avenue-The Neighborhoods of Santa Fe, New Mexico

As the snow spreads over the city of Santa Fe I walk Oscar, our Pug, through our South Capitol neighborhood and along Don Cubero.  The avenue is aglow in a lustrous morning light that paints the elms and sidewalks an amber color. Like something out of a Frank Capra film, the homes here have the flavor of old Santa Fe.  Folks are on evening strolls, saying hello from their front porch swings.  The smoky scent … (0 comments)

santa fe: Victoria Street-The Neighborhoods of Santa Fe, New Mexico - 08/05/09 01:32 PM

Victoria Street, Santa Fe, New Mexico
As if the city were speaking to me, I suddenly grab my camera, speed off in my red MINI Cooper convertible and drive the three blocks along the Santa Fe River to explore the hidden lanes of Santa Fe's Eastside neighborhoods.  Today I find myself on Victoria Street, a cul-de-sac dirt road under a canopy of shade trees where one can easily get lost musing about the artists, poets and Bohemians who've made this town the artist's haven that it is. Inspired by the Cinco Pintores, famed straw appliqué artists Alisa and Elisio Rodriguez … (0 comments)

santa fe: Sundance Estates - The Neighborhoods of Santa Fe, New Mexico - Michael’s Blog - 04/16/09 05:00 PM
Santa Fe is still a place that has neighborhoods. When I think of Santa Fe, it's all about lifestyle.  Here, a family can ski in the morning and play tennis or golf in the afternoon.  Or hike in the morning and ride horses in the afternoon.  Or switch them all about! This week, I'm letting you know about the neighborhood of Sundance Estates.  Just 15 minutes from the Santa Fe Plaza, the homes here are all built with the lifestyle in mind.  Many of the 2 ½ acre sites have majestic views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and the Santa … (0 comments)

santa fe: Sierra del Norte - The Neighborhoods of Santa Fe, New Mexico - Michael’s Blog - 03/26/09 10:53 AM
The visionary developers, Nancy and William Zeckendorf, saw the city lights of Santa Fe and the unsurpassed views of the sun setting over the Jemez Mountains. Knowing that soon the sky would fill with stars that seemed close enough to touch they began to fulfill their dream of a new subdivision close to the city.
Sierra Del Norte is one of the city's premiere developments of fine homes.  www.1062SierraDelNorte.com  At 7,600 feet of elevation, the beautiful mountain neighborhood location is 600 vertical feet higher than the Santa Fe Plaza but still close in - inside the city limits just 3.3 miles … (0 comments)
