active rain: Isn't It Amazing!?... - 01/17/08 10:17 PM
...That strangers hundreds of miles away can become friends and have never met face to face? A few strokes on the keyboard, a click of the mouse... a connection, a bond is made... What a blessing to live in such a time where this is possible! A dear AR friend, Tom Braatz wrote an inspiring blog "Thank you for being there..." that sparked the thought for this post. He speaks of some amazing people on AR that are inspiring, encouraging, uplifting, giving.... I have found it to be so true as well. I have met some of the nicest individuals here. I … (5 comments)

active rain: Play Up One of Your Home's Most Important Rooms! Don't Forget The Kitchen... - 11/25/07 10:14 PM

Often the kitchen is overlooked when getting a home ready to sell but statistics show that the kitchen is one of the best places to spend money on for a good return. Here are some tips to play up your kitchen for prospective buyers!
Cabinet Doors
Damaged or dirty cabinet doors are a big turn-off for buyers, but that's an easy fix. Most cabinetry can be re-painted after cleaning it and applying a coat of primer. Just check that the materials can take paint or if you will need to do any special preparation to the doors first. You can also just replace the doors. There are companies … (3 comments)

active rain: Home Staging 101- Tip of the Day for Seasonal Decorating - 11/19/07 09:19 PM
As the holidays approach, many people are inclined to maybe take their home off the market for a while and "take a break". What an opportunity they are missing out on! Yes, it may be true there are less lookers but buyers checking out homes this time of the year are more serious buyers and if one chooses to look at your home, your chances of selling are much greater. At least you are not just getting the window shoppers! This is a great time of the year to play up the beauty of your home. Take advantage of Christmas decorating! … (3 comments)

active rain: Who's job is it to hold REO companies accountable to federal guidelines?? - 11/17/07 02:22 AM
I am not as seasoned of an agent as some may be so maybe I am a little naive in thinking the way I do but as Realtors and Real Estate Agents, don't we have a duty to uphold laws and ethics? Why is it I see some skirting around them and getting away with it? Oh, and we sit and wonder why Realtors have bad reputations...like the used car salesman stereotype...
Okay so I am venting a little, but when I have another agent who has more experience than I and should know better try to force my clients and myself into closing … (1 comments)

active rain: Who MEME!? Here's a few things to know! - 10/17/07 11:21 PM
I was checking out my email and surprise... I had been meme'd! Me, I thought... Yep, it was me. My friend Dionne had nominated me for a MEMEME. How sweet of her to think of me! I pondered this over wondering what I should tell about me, there are so many things to say after all. LOL! Well... actually maybe there aren't so many things to tell but I just like to talk. Kind of funny since...
I used to be a very shy growing up! Seems funny because that is certainly not the way one would describe me now. Guess … (9 comments)

active rain: What does October make you think of?? - 09/26/07 09:41 PM
If spring is the best season for staging a home for sale, fall certainly is not far behind. Many buyers find the autumn leaves and cooler weather inspiring and if the home you want to sell has trees and autumn color, your home will look great on the market in October. Take advantage of the natural beauty around you!
When you're presenting a home for sale in October, be sure to rake leaf litter. You probably won't be able to get it all but your main goal should be to present a neat overall appearance. Hide your rakes and baskets and discard the … (1 comments)

Okay, so I am planning my first Home Buyers Seminar and need some advice! I have the place, time frame, etc. planned out and I am working on outlining the topics I want to cover. Moving is one of life's most stressful events. So here's a quick little guide to make it as painless as possible.
Decide what NOT to pack
Now's a good time to de-clutter your life by deciding which items you don't want and don't need to take with you. Decide what you want to give away, throw away, or sell. We can all find things when packing we CAN live without. Think about the last time you used it. If you can't remember- GET RID OF IT NOW. If it has been a long time- get rid of it now.

active rain: A Tribute to a Man Who Taught Me I CAN Do Anything- Miss you Dad - 08/13/07 10:39 PM
This blog is a tribute to my Dad. He recently passed away after struggling for the last 14 years with MS. He had just turned 65 and his fight against the disease and diabetes just became too much for him. I admired him so much! Even his last few weeks while he suffered with pain, not being able to eat, fluid in his lungs... he NEVER complained. If you asked him how he was, he would tell you he was fine, say he didn't hurt and he would smile. Such strength. He was so proud of me when I passed my … (10 comments)

active rain: Tapping into free tools & marketing! Great resources are out there! - 08/10/07 10:03 PM
Some may say I am cheap... I like to think I'm thrifty. Well, the bottom line is- I just don't have the budget I would like to spend on marketing. Who does? I am always looking for new things to stretch my budget. As time goes on, hopefully my marketing budget will increase but even then I'd like to think I would be smart enough to tap into the great resources available out there. I recently noticed an ad in a newsletter I get online -DVD's for sellers that Lowe's will send out with your name and info for- are you ready... FREE. Yes, … (31 comments)
