Are you looking for a new home in New York? Like many of your fellow house hunters you are starting your search on line and that's a very good place to start. I encourage all my clients to spend time looking at information about the areas they are considering moving to and to look at the on line listings of houses to get a basic idea of the housing costs in the area. Are you interested in buying a new home this year? Well if you are seriously considering that possibility, the time to move is now. I don't want to alarm you but Interest Rates are starting to climb again. Each time the Interest Rate rises the amount money you can borrow to buy your new house goes down and the amount you will pay each month goes up. There is no crystal ball to tell us with absolute certainty when it will happen but a lot of people are predicting significantly higher Interest Rates this year. Oh oh that smell... Can you smell that smell? Yes the final walk through I covered for an out of town associate really paid off. I had just finished telling the homebuyer that there is normally nothing to worry about when we pulled up to the house. Of course it was not shoveled after the snow of the day before but hey no biggy we climbed over the piles left by the plows and went inside. Do you hear that? It is the sound of the crowds rushing in behind you. If you have been looking around at real estate for a while and holding off to see what the market will do you may find that houses are moving more quickly. When I call to schedule appointments I am hearing a lot more of "that has an accepted offer" and I am getting calls telling me that some properties scheduled for a weekend home tour have accepted an offer before I can get my buyers out there.
