downtown medford: Have You Been To Sunrise Café and Catering in Downtown Medford Oregon? - 03/06/11 12:12 AM

We finally made it to the Sunrise Café & Catering at 130 E. Main Street in Downtown Medford tonight, getting to this popular lunchtime destination – but for dinner. This family owned business run by brother and sister, Ed Chun and Carol Hendricks was worth the wait. Having experienced the delectable Kalbi Tri Tip Special and a sampler platter, with some of the most tender, flavorful meats we’ve tasted (pulled pork, teriyaki beef AND chicken - YUM!), we’ll be back to see the friendly, personable Ed and Carol again very soon. Dinner for two with drinks came to just over … (3 comments)

downtown medford: A Fiery Night In The Rogue Valley - 07/09/09 11:43 AM
With so many wonderful things to do here in Southern Oregon in the summer time, sometimes our biggest hurdle is deciding which great place we want to go to. Holding season tickets to Camelot Theatre in Talent, Oregon helped us narrow the decision making process down a bit since we had booked seats to see "Cabaret" that night. Having had a late lunch, these very early risers wanting to stay awake for the performance figured a light dining experience was in order. This narrowed us down to two choices, both in Downtown Medford - Cork's or Elements? That's a hard choice … (2 comments)

The Rogue Valley Youth Choruses performed Thursday at the Rogue Valley Manor, Saturday at the Ginger Rogers Craterian Theatre, and Monday at South Medford High. These performances were the culmination of all the hard work of the singers, the Directors, Rehearsal Assistants and Accompanists, and were their treat to the Southern Oregon Community who were able to see these final performances of the 2008-2009 Season.

downtown medford: Have You Been To Element’s Paella Party in Downtown Medford Oregon? - 02/06/09 07:54 PM
We have a favorite restaurant in Downtown Medford where we know we will experience some unique and amazing flavors not only in their delicious Tapas, but in their drinks.
Have you been to Element's Tapas Bar & Lounge in Downtown Medford? We have, frequently, and are headed back that way Monday February 9th to enjoy their Paella Party! This will be the first Element's Paella Party we've attended, and we're really looking forward to it. We're a little troubled, though... which of our favorite Southern Oregon wines will we bring with us?

See you out there!

downtown medford: Have You Been To Agate Ridge Vineyard In Eagle Point Oregon? - 02/06/09 07:32 PM
Southern Oregon is filled with wonderful wineries and other destinations for us "foodies" to enjoy. Agate Ridge Vineyard in Eagle Point is one that is a bit off the beaten path, but certainly worth a visit to experience their wines while seeing some majestic scenery. They have turned out quite a few worthy award winning wines, including three Silver Medal winners just recently received at the 2009 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.

In town and want to try some of Agate Ridge Vineyard's delicious wines? Cork's Wine Shoppe & Barin Downtown Medford next to the Ginger Roger's Craterian Theater … (4 comments)

downtown medford: Medford Winter Light Festival Draws Crowd - 12/06/08 04:23 PM
It's that time again, time for a favorite winter event, the annual Medford Winter Light Festival that is held in Vogel Plaza in Downtown Medford Oregon. Last night's crowd was awed by the beautiful tree, wonderful music provided by the North Medford High School Band and South Medford High School Choir.
It was a beautiful, clear, cold night for this event that included music, booths and the arrival of Santa himself.
A special treat for this year's event was the fake snow falling on Vogel Plaza. But one of our favorite things about going to events like the Medford Winter Light … (0 comments)

downtown medford: Wining, Not Whining At Cork’s In Medford Oregon - 08/01/08 10:48 AM
This family owned and operated wine shoppe and bar located next to the Craterian Ginger Rogers Theater in Downtown Medford is just the place to go for Oregon wines, appetizers and friendly service. It is a favorite stop of mine when meeting friends after work or on my way to or from a performance at the theater. Cork's has a winemaker/vintner night every first Wednesday and blind tasting every Third Friday coinciding with the Downtown Medford Third Friday Art Walk. Come on down to Corksat 235 Theater Alley just off Central and Main in Downtown Medford. You'll be glad you did!

downtown medford: Have You Been To Porter’s Restaurant in Medford Oregon? - 07/29/08 01:57 PM
You'll find many locals winding down after work with friends or enjoying a great steak at Porter's, a voted a 2006 Reader's Choice favorite in the Mail Tribune for several categories. This historic train station is a great place to dine, enjoy cocktails, even hold small company celebrations as we have done. And, as I discovered last year, it is one of the few restaurants located in Downtown Medford that are open on Mondays!

See you out there!

downtown medford: Getting Out of the Elements at Elements' Tapas Bar & Grill in Downtown Medford - 04/22/08 05:50 PM
A springtime afternoon in downtown Medford found me and my husband at Elements Tapas Bar & Lounge, hungry but indecisive on what we wanted to have for dinner. We've been to Elements several times since our first visit to this fabulous place in early 2007, when we were meeting friends Downtown or going to a performance at the Ginger Rogers Craterian Theater.  Arriving here just after they opened on Saturday, we really had a chance to savor and enjoy not only the incredible selections Elements has, but the wonderful ambiance they have to offer, too. Gazing up at their starry night ceiling, the … (3 comments)

downtown medford: Top Ten Things to Show to Our Visitors in or near the Rogue Valley - 10/14/07 01:07 AM
I don't know about you, but we get a lot of visitors since we moved to the Rogue Valley! We're glad we spent some time getting acclimated to our new surroundings when we moved here from Southern California in 2004.
Here are some of our favorite places to share with the family and friends who come to visit us:

Crater Lake National Park- 77 miles up Hwy 62 from Medford this is the only National Park in the State of Oregon, and what a park it is!  We've done a fair amount of traveling in our time, and the pristine clarity and … (8 comments)
