charlotte nc real estate: Tony Tours the Town - Red Robin Restaurant - Charlotte NC - 08/03/10 07:44 PM

Went out for an early dinner with the wife and kids the other day.  Not really
knowing what we wanted to eat, we headed down I85 south toward
Charlotte in search of what looked good.
There, in the distance, rising above the trees like a beacon was the sign.  It
was a Red Robin Restaurant.

My wife told me Red Robin is best known for it's burgers.  So, of course, I
ordered the Hawaiian chicken (I have to be different).  It came with two
types of dipping sauce... salsa and ranch salsa.  I have … (5 comments)

charlotte nc real estate: A Fungus Among Us! - 10/23/09 11:30 AM
After leaving the office one day last week I could see a circle off in the distance up on a hill.
As I got closer, I realized it was a ring of mushrooms.
Immediately thinking I have to post this on Active Rain, I stopped the car, jumped out and snapped the pic.
I thought how odd for them to grow in a circular pattern.
Has anyone ever seen this sort of phenomenon before?
Let's hear about it or better yet if you have a pic of it post it here.

charlotte nc real estate: Forbes Magazine LOVES Huntersville, NC - 07/20/09 10:27 AM
I guess I picked well when I decided to move to Huntersville in beautiful North Carolina.

Forbes Magazine placed Huntersville, NC second on their list of America's 25 Best Places to Move To.
WooHoo!!
The article included such facts as:

Huntersville was picked for many reasons, some are:
Pretty tree-lined neighborhoods,
Charming,
Has a small town feel.
2 other towns in North Carolina were also in the top 10,
they are:
Apex - rated # 3 and
Cary - rated # 8.

charlotte nc real estate: Proposal: The $8000 tax break as a downpayment - Incentive to Concord NC buyers? - 05/18/09 03:03 PM
The Federal Housing Administration is considering to permit its lenders to allow home buyers to use the $8,000 tax credit as a down payment.Originally, buyers wouldn't receive the funds until after they filed their tax return.
That deterred some people from using the credit. The National Association of Realtors has been calling for the change. If this goes into effect, FHA's lenders will be permitted to "monetize" the tax credit through short-term bridge loans. This will allow home buyers to access the funds immediately at the closing table.
This could be yet another incentive for buyers to get off the fence!
I'll post more about … (13 comments)

charlotte nc real estate: Tony Tours the Town - Great Wolf Lodge Resort - Concord NC - 05/17/09 09:46 AM
This is a follow up to my post about the school bus that was involved in an accident on the way toCamp Thunderbird in South Carolina.
That same day, Mr. Sheppard, Superintendent of Cabarrus County schools, contacted Great Wolf Lodge to see if arrangements could be made to accommodate the children, to try and make up for the accident and canceled school trip.

Well, on May 11, that is exactly what happened. The 5th grade class was treated to a day at Great Wolf at no charge!

Great Wolf is conveniently located off of I85 near Concord Mills Mall … (16 comments)
