salt lake city: Fall is a gorgeous time of year. - 10/04/10 12:23 AM
Fall is a gorgeous time of year.
We went for a little drive up Big Cottonwood Canyon, over Guardsman Pass to Midway. It was a beautiful drive. My wife wanted to go and see the leaves. It has been a while since we have been on a drive like that. As we started up the canyon the trees were fairly boring, many had already lost their leaves. We were starting to feel disapointed. But then we got up into the Quaking Aspen trees and things just lit up for us.

The Aspen tree were golden and the sun was lighting … (12 comments)

Here are a few locations you can see Fireworks during the 4th of July Weekend in Salt Lake County. The big story is the Sugarhouse Fireworks show. This show was canceled by Salt Lake City because of budget cuts. A local businessman went to bat and the Sugarhouse business community jumped in and raised money to keep the show going.

salt lake city: All lit up for Christmas - 01/03/10 11:20 PM

Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah is the #1 toursist site in Utah. From Thanksgiving to New Years Day there is an incredible light display. You can only see a portion of the lights on this square in this picture. This shot is taken from the Joseph Smith Memorial Building near the Roof Restaurant. A wonderful buffet is served at the Roof. There is also another restaurant called the Garden on the same floor. Just south of Temple Square is a large development with shopping and housing. The views from the new high rise should be incredible.

salt lake city: Salt Lake City's Early Dwellings - 03/03/09 01:27 AM
The Beehive House Tonight my family toook a tour of one of the earliest buildings in Salt Lake City, Utah. This building was built around 1854 for and by Brigham Young. It is in the center of downtown Salt Lake and is quite an amazing tour. This also served as the church office for the President of the church who also was the Govenor of the Territory of Deseret. Many world leaders made visits to this home over the years. Mark Twain came to visit and find more out about these people. The home is constructed of adobe bricks made from … (4 comments)

salt lake city: Harvard Yale - 10/17/08 01:56 AM
Harvard Yale is a great neighborhood in Salt Lake City, Utah. Beautiful tree lined streets, most of the trees are huge. There are beautiful homes throughout the ares. Several streams and canyons run through the area and add to the diversity and pleasures of the area. Many homes back the canyons created by Red Butte creek, and Emigration creek. Many of the roads wind their way through the neighborhoods and the area's between 1100 East and 1500 East have rather steep inclines. I remember as a child the men on the street closed off the street I lived on to allow us … (1 comments)

salt lake city: Great Places to Eat - 09/19/08 07:45 PM
Went out to dinner tonight at the Gecko Resteraunt in South Jordan, Utah. We enjoy our meals there, I had the shredded beef burrito and my wife loves the mexican pizza there. Service is great, the chips and salsa are wonderful. The chips are warm when they come to you. When the whole meal is over you have to have the Gecko Bavarian Mints. They are to die for.
There are some wonderful eating establishments here in the Salt Lake Valley. From time to time I'll elaborate more. If there is somewhere you would recomend I would love to hear about … (2 comments)
