clinton estates: SHOULD THE AIG BONUSES STAY IN PLACE? - 03/18/09 12:47 PM
One view is NO!! They got billions of bail out $$$ and then paid over 100 million in bonuses. The bonuses may be subject to 100% tax.
 
The other view is YES. They were put into the contracts before the bailout $$ were issued and the current president of AIG was not the president when the bonuses were put in place.
 
Perhaps the bigger issue is why is there so much focus on this bonus amount? There are other larger issues, like Chase Bank ( who recieved 25 BILLION) NOW LOOKING AT SPENDING 400 MILLION TO outsource US jobs over … (5 comments)

Investors are out in the market. A bank owned property near The Ohio State University came for sale last Thursday. It was a huge 2000+ sq. ft 4-5 bedroom, 2 bath home! It needed work but could had rented for $1,600 a month. Offering price was $45,900.

 Face it, almost everyone loses their cell phone. I did a few days ago but was lucky enough to find it!
The biggest problem is trying to get all your contact numbers back!  I read that your carrier now offers a solution that makes it easy for you to automatically back up your contacts. Whenever you replace your phone with one from the same carrier, a back up address book can be wirelessly loaded onto it quickly.

On Feb. 12th we sponsored a real estate forum. It was not a buyer or seller typical real estate presentation.We wanted to address the issues of short sales, financing and home values all in one forum
Scott Stevenson, attorney for North west title had his short sale presentation and his prediction for 2009-2010 foreclosures.
Jamie Sutton of Wells Fargo mortgage spoke abut current financing conditions.  She handled some tough questions from some of the attendees. I spoke a little about current financing programs from the state of Ohio and displayed a trend line CMA.

clinton estates: DO THE 1ST TIME BUYERS IN YOUR AREA UNDERSTAND THE $8,000 TAX CREDIT? - 02/17/09 07:03 AM
We saw lots of confusion and lack of interest in the existing $7,500 tax credit. I put it on fliers, in MLS, on my web site and in my farming letters.
 
Now we have an $8,000 credit with NO repayment. We need as an industry to get the word out LOUD and CLEAR!! Yes, I know we are disappointed on the lack of the $15,000 credit but we need to get the word out on this one!

Well, it is snowing and we are slipping and sliding away.  I have an inspection at 1:00 and one of my new listings is getting a 2nd showing at 4:00

Things tend to grind to a halt here in Columbus even with only a few inches of snow.
 
Glad I am not in Minnesota where the temp was 38 below WITHOUT  the wind chill factor.

29 homes sold in Clintonville in December 2008. The average price of the sold Clintonville homes was $196,150, with these homes being on the market for 88 days.
 
This compares well to the same time period in 2007. 24 Clintonville homes sold, for an average price of $191,733, with the days on the market being 105
 
21% more homes SOLD in Clintonville in December 2008 vs. 2007, with the average price of the SOLD homes being 2% higher, and days on the market being 14% less!
 
 
2009 will be a GREAT year to buy a home in Clintonville!

Well, on the front page of the Columbus Dispatch, (Ohio's greatest home newspaper) the headlines blared,FOR SALE? GOOD LUCK!
Then all the wonderful stats for Novembers 08 sales were given. Gee, I wonder if they wonder why NONE of us ( well most of us) don't advertise with them any more!
 
Then I was getting some coffee at a store, checked out the newspaper rack, and behold, another      wonderful article on the front page of the Cleveland Plain Dealer!  What a great Christmas Eve!!!

 14 homes sold In November 2008 in Clintonville. The average asking price was $173,764, and the average sold price was $163,628. Days on the market was 88.
This compares to 37 homes sold in Novmber 2007. The average asking price was $182,147 with the average sold price being $175,575. Days on the market was 85
 
So, while the days on the market changed only slightly, the number of sales were down over 62%!  The average sold price was down approx. 7%.

While our phones and web site still are busy, our conversions to successful contracts have been down. Ive had at least 2 buyers pull back. One was getting part of their down payment from their ROTH IRA. After losing some of it's value, they simply pulled back on negotiating on their next home.
