business tips: Fall In Love With Your Career! - 03/20/14 12:58 PM

In "Selling 101" by Zig Ziglar, Zig opens the book by telling us to get out of the business of sales.
WHAT?
He says that too many people get into sales hoping to make some extra money and help a few people along the way. And, those people are in it for the WRONG reasons. He says those of us in sales need to be here because our heart and our head won't allow us to do anything else!

This is not just for sales positions, but any career path:
Why do you do what you … (2 comments)

business tips: Stay Focused and Stay Motivated - 06/10/13 10:51 AM
Here are a few quick thoughts to start off your week:
Commitment: Having focus, a task, a vision AND seeing it through.  Commit! Authority: Being an authority is better than being in authority.  Be THE Authority in your market. Goals: Set up a list of goals for every day. 3-5 INCOME producing goals (in writing) and do them EVERY DAY. Psychology: Tony Robbins says that success is 80% psychology and 20% strategy. Your mindset, beliefs and emotion will outweigh the specific steps necessary to accomplish results.
Attitude is everything, make sure yours is positive!

business tips: 5 Tips to Fit Social Media into Your Busy Workday - 05/30/13 08:36 AM

Using social media to market your business shouldn't take up most of your workday, but you do need to carve out some time for it.

Unfortunately, there are plenty of reasons why people don't bother doing that. They tell themselves things like: I'm too busy with important work, I can't see any value in it, I don't know what to post, I can't figure out the tools, I think social media is just for kids.

But deep down inside, most business people know they really should spend more time with social media. Here are 5 tips to … (4 comments)

Good habits, practiced regularly, eventually help us grow in the right direction.

Following are five great habits that can upgrade every area of our lives:

1. Keep moving.

business tips: NO ACTIONS=NO RESULTS - 12/17/12 10:29 AM
With only 9 business days left in 2012 I am sure we are all thinking about 2013
We all set goals each year around career, finances, health, friendships, family and more. As Lewis Carroll said, “If you don’t know where you are going any road will take you there.”
Take some time to look back at 2012. What goals did you achieve? What goals did you fall short of? What goals did you totally abandon?
To me, the point of goal setting is not to tie you down or make you feel like a failure if you don’t achieve them. Life … (9 comments)

6 Tips to Writing a Press Release That Gets Placed!
Maybe you're announcing a new service, a special event you're hosting, or a great staff member you've added. Wouldn't it be terrific to publicize that announcement with some well-placed positive news stories in the media your target audience uses? The challenge is getting a story placed. business tips: Friday Desserts - Stop being Stressed - 06/01/12 10:47 AM

Don't Forget: Stressed is Desserts spelled backwards!

Life can be stressful. I definitely don’t make any claims to having mastered stress management in my own life, and I see it as personal work in progress. In school, we all receive intensive instruction in the three R’s (reading, writing and arithmetic), but the important life skills around stress management are largely ignored in most curricula.

Here are six strategies for fighting stress before it starts:

1. Seek and destroy. Take a few minutes every day to identify stressors in your life and find ways to reduce or … (6 comments)
