It's that time of year again where we are looking for old or new coats for kids.  This is one of the most important events of the year and it helps thousands of needy families be able to send their kids off to school with a warm coat.
You can drop off your coats at my office on the South Hill:  Coldwell Banker Tomlinson, 4102 S. Regal, Suite 201 or at the North office off Division just South of the Y.  Make sure you tell them it's for Scott May's count.  I hope to … (0 comments)

scott may: Spokane's University District Trail System - 09/09/13 09:02 PM

Spokane has a terrific trail system featuring miles upon miles of paved trails stretching out in all directions.  A few days ago I was out with a friend on what became a wet, but fun 15 mile ride or so, and stopped along this stretch of the Centennial Trail in the University District to snap this picture of a beautiful rainbow.

Trail users can take the Centennial Trail East from Spokane's River Front Park, downtown, all the way to Couer D'Alene Idaho, or head West along the Spokane River through Riverside State Park as far as 9-mile, or … (1 comments)

scott may: Sustainable Coffee In Spokane, the Gift of Fair Trade! - 08/30/13 12:09 PM
A good Real Estate Agent at a market leading powerhouse such as Coldwell Banker Tomlinson, gets really creative when it comes to closing gifts and such.  I have some pretty amazing friends who have referred a lot of people to me who wanted a good agent and I wanted to get them something they might really enjoy.  I finally got the perfect "ah-ha" moment and decided to get a bunch of fresh coffee direct from the roaster!

Roast House Coffee, is my favorite.  Three years in business, and local, they get their beans direct from the farm.  The beans are shade grown in the forest and … (1 comments)

Expect to walk a little farther if you have become a regular user of the parking lot here...

The hotel will be located conveniently accross from the convention center with more than 700 rooms and 70,000 square feet.  Nice to see this kind of growth in Spokane!

scott may: Spokane YMCA Building: day of wrecking - 03/10/11 08:33 PM
So a feature blog with lots of pictures needs a before, during and after, so here goes (although the final "after" won't be until some time later after this entry still I wanted to get in some good shots):
Here's The building just before the wrecking ball
I then walked across the cable bridge over the falls directly to my right (not pictured, but I'm standing on it) and moved over for a closer shot.  I figured they would break brick at high noon and was correct in that they hooked the wrecking ball on to the cable at noon, but … (0 comments)

scott may: Abbey Crawford in "Food, Glorious Food", Spokane Caberet Performance.... - 03/07/11 05:12 PM
Spokane has been the home of many talented artists including jazz pianist Jimmy Rowles, Singer Billy Tipton, Bing Crosby of course, as well as jazz musician Tyrone Wells and a long list of others in various music genres. These people made it big on the global music scene, but quality talent is often hard to come by on a here back at home scale, especially by such an amazing and diverse performer who captures the spirit of the art's essence, while still keeping the grass roots appeal.  I'm talking about the super talented Abbey Crawford!

Back in the 90's I first had the pleasure … (0 comments)

scott may: Senator Patty Murray Visits My Lunch Meeting Today! - 01/12/11 05:18 PM
What a huge surprise today!  I attended a business luncheon at Europa in Downtown Spokane today when Senator Patty Murray, who's already in town dropped by to inform all of us about the new congress, her accomplishments, and plans for the future...Here's the picture from where I sat.

I was parked this afternoon side street right in front of Europa, so when I found she was going to be there, I hurried out front to offer to move my vehicle, but it wasn't in the way.  I saw that secret service (or police?  I'm not sure) were shoveling the sidewalk … (1 comments)

scott may: South Hill Neighborhoods: Brown's Mtn. Area - 11/02/10 07:54 PM
Spokane's South hill features a variety of neighborhoods but one area worth checking out is in the area of the Eastern and South Eastern slope of Browne & Krell Mountain.

The development features more than 100 homes and several lots still available to build on.  Homes differ in prices and as the view gets better, generally prices increase from about medium range upwards.  Here's a view from about midway up the road into the neighborhood:

The deer is real!  As you peek around the tree though, you get an idea of what your view could be like from up there...here's a … (0 comments)

scott may: Joe Albi Stadium to Riverside State Park trail - 06/10/10 05:51 PM

Research shows that one of the major things that home buyers are looking for when choosing a place to call home is access to hiking and recreational trails.  Spokane is fortunate to have an abundance of trail systems with the largest and most traveled one being the Centennial Trail that stretches from Riverside State park all the way to the Idaho line and beyond.  In this area of Spokane, the Centennial Trail is on the West side of the Spokane River.  These pictures are of the trails in the park on the East side of the river.
