al: March 15, 2008-Hail and Rain in Jackson County, AL - 03/19/08 08:50 PM
On March 15,2008 we had alot of rain and hail. The hail lasted about 2 minutes but it was coming down hard. I am sure there was alot of damage to peoples homes(roof, gutters, HVAC).
I have a insurance adjuster coming out to my home tomorrow to check and see if our roof was damaged. I would rather be safe than sorry in case there is some damage and then 6 months down the road the roof starts leaking then it will be to late to claim it on my insurance.
Here is some pictures I took!

al: Habitat for Humanity...volunteered my time at a Chili Challenge event. - 03/05/08 09:22 PM
This was my second year to volunteer to help at this event. I made 2 crockpots full of chili, and decorated my booth. The people really enjoy coming out to this event since it raises money for a good cause. I enjoy helping out my community, and meeting all the people that help.
Here's some pictures that I took at the event. It was held February 23, 2008 at Goosepond Civic Center in Scottsboro, AL.

al: Ideas? For a Chili Challenge(Habitat for Humanity)...Jackson County, AL - 02/09/08 11:35 AM
I am going to enter the Chili Challenge to help raise money for Habitat For Humanity in Scottsboro, AL. I was wondering if anybody has ever done this, and if so what kind did you do to promote yourself at the event? The event is going to be held at the Goosepond Civic Center on Saturday February 23, 2008 from 11-2.
At the event they have a silent auction, singing, and of course vote for the best chili. Anybody have any good chili recipes? I would appreciate any ideas.

al: Wishing Rick My Condolences - 01/21/08 10:47 AM

I would like to send out my condolences to Rick Burgess with the Rick and Bubba Show. He lost his 2 year old son this weekend. I listen to the radio show on 100.3 FM The River. I am sure some of the AR bloggers have heard of them. I believe they are stationed out of Birmingham, AL.
So if everyone would take a moment and send out a prayer for Rick and his family.
 My Deepest Symphathy,

al: Today was my first day...? - 01/17/08 07:52 PM

Today was my first day at my part-time job at Thompson Tax Service in Huntsville, AL. I actually enjoyed it! I am the Receptionist so all I do is schedule appointments. I didn't make it in time to take the classes to prepare taxes. I am going to plan on doing that next year from January through April 15.
I don't have to commit myself, and the job is really flexible. I can work whenever I want to, and take off it I need to. This will help bring in extra income for me, and maybe I can meet people that … (4 comments)

Of course she will have to do fund-raisers to raise the $500 fee to go which this includes her boarding, meals and all activities she will be doing and it will be for a week. This will be a great opportunity for her … (6 comments)

al: Sinking House? - 12/05/07 05:13 AM

There is a house located in Madison, AL that is sinking? WHAT? Yes you heard me sinking! Evidently the house was built on top of a cavern that no one was aware of, and there is nothing that they can do about it. The insurance will not pay! For the insurance company to pay they would have had this option added extra on their policy? Would we every think of this?Nobody would ever expect this to happen, and I deeply feel for the people.
City engineers are setting up seismographs to check to see the movement of the cavern. It shifted … (12 comments)
