I started out my real estate blogging on our Hawaii Island MLS AlohaLiving.com Because I happen to be naturally an analytical person, my posts there are heavy on the analysis. There are not many bloggers there, so I only post once or twice a week so as to not hog all the prime real estate. Now with my ActiveRain blogs, I can post more local color and events on Localism, and shorter topical posts on a daily basis.
At the beginning of February I wrote a post on AlohaLiving about an area called Kohala Waterfront that is just beyond the famous "gold coast' Kohala Coast resorts north of Kona: Hualalai resort, Waikoloa Beach Resort, Mauna Lani Resort and Mauna Kea Resort. I'd had clients looking for beautiful finishes and unobstructed ocean views, and when prices crept down I showed two houses there. My clients instructed me to write up an aggressive offer, but in the meantime the house went into escrow and closed shortly thereafter.
Last week, I picked out the houses on the beach at Kolea as a best buy. The house I mentioned in the article is now in escrow after 6 months on the market! Luckily, it isn't actually my favorite of the available houses at Kolea, so I still have an ace in the hole.
But from now on, I'm keeping my best buy list for my own clients!
