Supra Ekey and Smartphones

By
Real Estate Agent with Lake Conroe Real Estate

My Treo phone died on me so I had a replacement phone overnighted which I immediately synked upon arrival.  I ran out to show a home before double checking to make sure my new Trio properly synked the EKey data.  When I arrived early to the home I was showing, it was raining and I realized none of the EData synced properly. Luckily my client called and said she was stuck in traffic due to rain, so I hung up and immediately called the Supra EKey hotline.  The man who answered was so friendly and calm since I just knew he could not help me and was going to tell me to go back to my office to download the data.  Instead, he actually sent my new phone an automatic install link and walked me through remote download instructions.  It all took about 12 minutes and I was ready to go & it saved the deal!  If any agent out there is not taking advantage of the Supra Ekey on their smart phones, they are really missing out.  There is no more Kim Voice to deal with and no long authorization code to obtain, just a simple Satellite Sync button and you are off and running.

I am on my 4th treo, and now that I would love a new phone, it is going strong and refuses to give up.

I had the e-key in my phone, and the whole phone went dead, and I had to go show property and borrow a key, which is a $5000 fine.   So I went back to a regular Supra key.  Now our NWMLS is getting new keys that don't require a cradle, update automatically like the phones, and should be a lot easier.  I live in Podunk( Port Townsend)  and have to take a long drive to get the phone back into E Key status I think.  Also hate the idea of paying the data fee of $30.  I am on a real austerity program.

Do you pay the date fee, and what else do you use that makes that worthwhile?...that is the main thing keeping me from getting a new Blackberry, plus the fact there is nothing wrong with my old phone.

The Smart phone saved the day.  I love the fact that I don't have to carry anything extra, I just make sure I have my phone and I am on my way.

Great post.

Cool, I didn't realize they did away with that loooooong authorization code. It's about time they caught with over-the-air technology. Thanks for the info.

For any of you that might be interested, Verizon and RIM (makers of BlackBerry) have put together an offer to get a free eKEY Fob.  If you purchase a new Verizon BlackBerry, you get a free eKEY Fob.  Once you have the fob you can easily add eKEY, and start using your BlackBerry as your lock box key.  The details can be found here:
