Warmer Weather - Time to Jump in the Waves?...Not So Fast!

By
Real Estate Agent with Surterre Properties

As spring settles in...thoughts turn to body surfing and boogie boarding at the beach. But hold on for just a moment...

Did you know that nearly 10% of all beach injuries reported by our lifeguards rank as serious?  And serious includes spinal injury from diving into waves and hitting the sand.  The sand is unforgiving.  And as currents change from a northwest swell in winter months to southwest swell in summer months, the sandy bottom of beaches change along with it.  This can create an unknown danger when people blindly dive into waves for that burst of refresh on a hot day.

So...take a moment and wade into the water before diving in.  You won't be a wimp for doing it...and you could save yourself from a life changing accident.

And thank you for making me Your Orange County Real Estate Connection.

We have the problem of rip tides here, that is where the water creates and undertow that you can't get out of and it pulls you out away from shore and under the water.
