Spring Educational Seminar

Saturday May 16th 10:00 am. to 3:00 p.m.

 

I serve as a board member on the LaGrange County Lakes Council. Our mission is "to promote, protect and preserve the quality of the lakes and watersheds of LaGrange County". Offering free educational seminars "spreads the word" so everyone can do their part to help us accomplish our goals. 

Pine Knob Park Howe Indiana

 

The LaGrange County Lakes Council is holding our Spring Seminar this Saturday on May 16th at Pine Knob Park from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. If you live on a lake, or spend time on a lake, this seminar will offer information on important lake related topics.  Scheduled speakers include: Gwen White, Shannon Winks and Jeremy Price from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and Scott Banfield of Aquatic Enhancement and Survey, Inc.

 

Scheduled Topics During the Seminar Include:

  • Qualifying for LARE Grants that help pay for lake projects such as testing and weed control.
  • Pier Rules and Regulations for Homeowners
  • Weed Control and Safe Vegetation Removal
  • Canada Geese Control and Removal
  • Fundraising for Lake Projects
  • Lake Resident Communication

Lunch will be provided by the Lake Council. 

Pine Knob Park is located three miles east of Howe on State Road 120. Located on Meteer Lake, it is the newest park in our county park sytem and offers facilities for picnics, hiking, fishing, and archery.
