What time does it get dark in Alaska?

no darkness

The hardest thing for me to get used to in Alaska was the time. Down below is my watch which I took a picture of one night. I believe I was in Denali which is just south of Fairbanks.

The watch shows a time of 11:32 and it still was not dark. I went in and went to bed. someone told me it really does not get dark until about 2am. Sometimes I was up at 5 and it was already more light than it was at 11:32.

Also, did you know that Alaska is one hour earlier than Pacific time?  So if it is 12 noon in New York it is 8am in Alaska. I always though there was just eastern time, central time, mountain time and pacific time.

I will upload the picture as soon as that feature works again!

I don't know that I could get used to that.  That would be as bad as when your parents made you go to bed as kid when it was still bright outside.

Wow,

Did not know that Alaska had a different time zone, that's interesting. But I did hear there is about 6 months of daylight in the summer and 6 months of darkness in the winter. I definitely would have to choose the summer months. Really enjoying reading about y'alls adventure in Alaska.
