 The Big Three....The Beat Goes on...Part I
The Big Three....The Beat Goes On....Part II

It's our Identification, it's the first impression of our business skills, so inexpensive, so valuable, a memento that can be kept and can survive an entire lifetime.  Little old business cards!

Why do we want to keep them? ..........It's better to get them in someone else's hands, don't you think?  How many times have you been out and do not have one business card on you?   Why?...I can't understand  it! Honestly....I do it too .....I just run out!  "I'm sorry, I must have given my last card out!  How Embarrassing!

This is what turned me around, too many "how embarrassing" moments, I hate to admit it,  I am still not the very best, yes I still run out of cards.... but I am better than what I was.

Being better than what I was helped me to recruit two incredible Realtors to our company this year!  "So the goal is always to be a little better at everything you do, better than what you were!  If we haven't mastered being the best, then at least we can master being better!"

Always stash cards- Everywhere!!!  My desk, Lysa's desk, wallet, day planner, trunk, glove box, my jacket pocket, a kitchen shelf, in the living room, and in my room.  Everywhere...

Attach business cards on everything.  Whenever I receive cards they go to a holder on my desk, then at the end of the week, I sort through them and in my wallet they go!

It's not enough that you carry your cards but the people closest to you should carry them as well.  Your sphere of influence!  That would include your assistant or real estate partner, the call coordinator, your broker ( I carry most of the associates cards on me!), your spouse, family and friends, everyone should have your cards.  Give out in groups of 5.

When out at a restaurant, leave your card with your tip, on the back leave a note, "Thank you for the great service!"  Not a good tipper, ignore this and save yourself the embarrassment!

Did you ever get such great service that you had to tell the manager?

Do it with business cards. Twas the night before Christmas Eve, I went shopping with my dad and one of my brother's.  Two hours later, I discovered a defect and had to return it.  Who wants to go to the mall at 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve Eve night to return something?  I wasn't happy at all.

I went in and it was so fast and painless and pleasant I had to tell someone!  I did, to the cashier and the manager, Thanking them for the excellent service!  I felt good for just doing that after seeing the look on their faces.  I think they will remember me and who knows I think there is a good chance they shared that story with someone or possibly my business card....

I could go on and on about the unique ways to market yourself with business cards, why professionally you should wear a name tag and let's not forget, courting your sphere of influence....it would be very lengthy....

I think I said it best here:

Being better than what I was helped me to recruit two incredible Realtors to our company this year!  "So the goal is always to be a little better at everything you do, better than what you were!  If we haven't mastered being the best, then at least we can master being better!"

Midori- another great tip.  I've so often pulled a card, sort of...used looking, out of my bag, noticed my own grocery list on the back of it, and put it back.  I'm going to rubber band the good ones, and keep the magnet cards out of my bag altogether- into the outside, unused pocket of my handbag.

I love these series!  I've learned to put a few in a couple of places in my wallet, the outside pocket, inside pocket and found cute little manila envelopes (business card size) to put a 6 at a time in so they don't get all messed  up.....I also put a stack of 100 in my compartment in my car and in my husband's car. I learned my lesson when I didn't have not one...and since then make sure.

Thank you Sally-I don't know maybe I must have a thick skull, because as hard as I try, I will run out of cards.  It never fails but the good thing is I am getting better.  Always nice to know you are reading!

Midori-

Really great post, and a great tip. I can't tell you how many times I've mentioned what I do for a living, and NOT have a card to give out. I'm restocking my car after this!

Morning Midori! I'm enjoying the series as well! I used to carry Nancy-Ellens cards when I worked at the beachside office, I would get a few leads when I was out and about for the company and not have anything to give to the people I was talking to.

"That would include your assistant or real estate partner, the call coordinator, your broker ( I carry most of the associates cards on me!), your spouse, family and friends, everyone should have your cards.  Give out in groups of 5."

Great Advice! You Rock!!
