My TOM-TOM has saved TIME-TIME, GAS-GAS and my BUTT-BUTT!!!

I admit I am geographically challenged. I also admit that I have gotten lost several times while out showing properties to clients. The overwhelming feelings of inadequacy had crept into my daily life regarding this. It has always been this way and that is one reason I love to live in small communities rather than big, bustling cities. If I want to experience Big City Life, I will go to Las Vegas for the day, get lost and come back home!

I do not know the difference from NORTH, SOUTH, EAST or EAST! But I do know that I ALWAYS go the opposite way that I am supposed to...

yaw gnorw

Prior to my Tom-Tom when I was scheduling a home tour for my clients, I would Google Map every address, get into my car and drive to each and every home to be sure that I knew exactly how to get there prior to the actual showing. Talk about  exhausting and a waste of gas!

one way                                       one way

I could get lost on the way home if I was faced with a Detour Sign! I'm s-e-r-i-o-us!

After coming home with my horror stories of taking a LEFT instead of a RIGHT and heading the WRONG WAY down a ONE WAY street, my husband bought me a Tom-Tom and had it installed. Oh, happy day!

So if you are geographically challenged and want to avoid the embarrassment and inconvenience of getting lost, I highly advise you to buy a Tom-Tom or GPS brand of your choice. My confidence level has gone up a few notches! I am still geographically challenged but have confidence in my little buddy to help me along the way!

Looks like we are triplets, lol.  I could not survive without mine.  I got tired of wasting gas and embarrassing myself by getting lost with clients.  Thank heavens for our GPS systems!!!

Hi Wanda - I use a Garmin and find it very useful in finding homes in areas I've never been in before.  I'd be lost without it; no pun intended.

Those are great pics.  I wish the Tom Tom would recognize newer construction areas, and perhaps I need to fiddle with it more for that to be the case.

Jon, You made a funny without meaning to...I love it! I do like the fact that I am able to find those areas that are less known.

Rick, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Heather, Yes, I have noticed that it does not recognize the newer developments. I go to the multiple listing service and check them out.

Hi Wanda, great and funny post. If you ever have the misfortune of driving around New Orleans, bring your Tom-Tom. We have so many one-ways, and "no left turn" intersections, that even I...more or less here my whole life...rely heavily on my GPS. Probably perfect for you getting around the Las Vegas Strip, eh?

I LOVE my cheap little Tom-Tom.  It too has saved me countless hours of route planning and map-printing.

I use Google Maps and map out directions. What I really hate is when a buyer says, "Oh, let's not see house #3." I say we should drive by at least. Because I don't want them to know that if we skip house #3, I may not know how to get from house #2 to house #4. LOL. But I always carry my Garmin in the glovebox for emergencies. Just the other day Google Maps told me to go north on Watt when I knew for a fact that I needed to go south. Google isn't always right.

Elizabeth, You are right, Google Maps are incorrect at times. My brother and I took a trip to Washington D.C. using Google Maps and got lost several times...the UPS guy even gave us incorrect information...go figure! D.C. is extremely hard to navigate! I wonder how we would have done with a GPS system...we'll try it next time.

Before I got it my GPS, I always teased my clients that I don't have left and right turn signals, I only have U-turn signals in my car!
