By
Education & Training

We all know and love it in the real estate world when there is a meeting of the minds.

Have you ever witness a meeting of the magpies?

I was lucky enough to witness both in person!

The following photos show how a meeting of the magpies looks like in Red Lodge, Montana.  It's Good to Be Here!!

Maria,

Thank you for the psoitive feedback.   I knew the one in flight will be popular.  That is the reason why I added the second photo.

Kelli,

Thank you for the positve comment. Another vote for the magpie in flight!   I was lucky to catch this one spreading his wings.   It gives a better appreciation of the colors present on the magpies' feathers.

Michael,

Thank you.  Red Lodge is a very beautiful area of the country to visit and live in.

Dinah, Not only are they beautiful but they are big!

Kathleen,

Thank you for the nice feedback.   I like the idea of the sing along with the colorful conductor.

Gary,

You are welcome.  Thank you for visiting and for your comment.

Knowing how noisy magpies are, I can just imagine the racket!  Fun shots!

Debi,

They are not as noisy as ravens or seagulls can be.  They usually get noticed by their size and beautiful subtle colors.  Luckily, they do not hold meetings often.  This the only one I was able to observe from a distance.  Usually, they hang in groups of two and communicate more with gestures rather than noise.  It sure was fun observing them and taking these photos.

Eunice,

I could not understand what they were talking about but it could not have been about short sales as we are lucky enough in our market to not have a significant number of them.  I think they were more likely discussing about where the bird feeders where in and around town and which home owners are doing a good job at keeping them full with the seeds that they like.

Debi,

Thank you for the chuckle!  I believe they were about 20 on some of the photos.  I cropped both this photos to focus on those sticking close together and limit the amount of tree branches.

Peg,

Since their are not potty-trained, I am not sure how many.  If they know to go outside when it is time, I can hold an open house to better be able to answer your question.  Thanks for the smile your question generated.

Hi Gerry ~ Wow - they're beautiful and unusual - I guess I've never seen one.

I was thinking just a few minutes ago how lucky we all are to get to see such amazing photographs on this site - from around the country and sometimes around the world. Yours are always some of my favorites. To have such gorgeous scenery and talent in photography is really a huge boon for your business - your photos do a fabulous job on selling people on your area.

You words were very touching.  Thank you so much for your words of encouragement!  My hobby of photography has taken a life of its own since I have been living in beautiful Red Lodge, Montana.  I have enjoyed sharing the beauty of my surroundings with the AR community and your great feedback as well as those from other AR members is appreciated.  I look forward even more to capturing and sharing some gorgeous scenery.

Gerry,

That definitely is a gathering of the magpies. They are a pretty bird. They were larger than I thought they were when I first saw them. :)
