Celebrating in Seattle

Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams West Sound Realty

According to a recent Forbes.com article, homeowners in the Seattle area are dancing in the streets!

Why? Because the Seattle area is the Number One Best Housing Markets in the U.S.

According to data from the National Association of Realtors (NAR), the city's median home price in the 1st quarter hit $380,200, up a whopping 12.3% from a year earlier. And it's not just the Seattle area, but the entire Pacific Northwest Region as well. In Portland, Ore., prices jumped nearly 9% and the capitol city, Salem, it grew up over 15% in the same time period.

Today's weather here on the Kitsap Peninsula was yet another reason why many are flocking to our area. We nearly reached a rather unseasonal 90 degrees! It's days like today that make us Washingtonians quickly forget the long endless overcast days of constant drizzle.

Pretty soon, crabbing season will start up again, and many local boaters with take to the waterways of the Puget Sound, in search of the prized Dungeness Crab!

Whether you're close to retirement, just starting out, or simply wanting a slower, safer, higher quality of life for your family, seriously consider Washington State for your next move!

And allow me, Your Professional Agent in the West Sound, to Help You Achieve the Next Adventure in Life!

Rich, that picture alone would grab me.  A slower way of life, THAT I would have to get used to :)!

Love the photo and I'm glad the market is doing well. We are in a Buyer's market and they are few and far between.

Great view in the photo! Our median is about $185,000 but would have to check on the % of sales although I know they are up. so I suppose you will be out crabbing soon!

Rich, great post!  As you know, I moved here a year ago from the East Coast, which I loved.  Seattle is like another planet - laid-back but not slow, gorgeous and accessible, and a great vibe that just makes me feel good walking out my front door.  And if you come from a place with a hard winter, the "rain" in Seattle is nothing!

the photo is breathtaking - it would draw a crowd for sure - I suspect our market will be slowing in the future as we were just announced as the second highest cost of living in Oregon - that will take the wind out of the sails of all that is written about Bend being the largest appreciation I am sure - best of luck in your market

Betsy - Hey, Girl! You're right, we do have a 'good vibe' going here! We came from Kansas, with two very extreme seasons. This is much more pleasant, even with all of our overcast and drizzle.

Are you going to the get-to-gether on Saturday?

Moni - this view is just over the hill from Silverdale. I constantly have to remind myself that I'm not on vacation, and that I actually LIVE here!

Carole - things can be a bit slower over on the Kitsap Peninsula where we are, but for those who want a little faster pace, it's only a 30 minute ferry ride to downtown Seattle!
