Minerva Park in the summer...

By

I first drove through Minerva Park in the winter... in 1990. Sometimes I think Minerva Park with it's lakes, ravines, streams and trees is prettiest in winter.

Yes I think Minerva Park is prettiest in the winter... except when it is spring and the flowering trees are blooming and the daffodils and tulips are blooming... then I think Minerva Park is prettiest in the spring.

Yes I think Minerva park is prettiest in the spring.... except when the tree's are blazing reds, yellows and oranges in autumn...... Minerva Park has lots of trees then I think Minerva Park is prettiest in the fall...

Minerva Park in the summer with all the fresh green trees, the beautiful flowers in many of the yards, the lakes in all their glory. The golf course (privately owned) beautifully manicured, the swimming pool full of cool clear water. Minerva Park is beautiful in the summer.... and a lot of fun for the residents.

Homes in Minerva Park were mostly built between 1940's and the 1960's. There's a variety of ranch, cape cods, split levels and two stories in Minerva Park. The Village is a great community to find a mid century home at a great price.

The Village website says of the history of Minerva Park:

" 7-13-1895 to 7-27-1902 For seven glorious summers, laughter and gaiety rang forth from the first amusement park in Franklin County. With intoxicants banned, the Park was enjoyed by the “respectable” folk of the Gay ’90s."

Many of the lots in Minerva Park are very generous by Central Ohio standards.

Minerva Park is glorious in the summer...

Nice photo tour. I played the course once a long, long time ago. It's a pretty neighborhood tucked away off the beaten path.

Nice tour, thanks for sharing it!  What a beautiful area!  I've never been to Ohio, had no clue it was so green!  But then I'm sheltered! :)  Had to laugh when you talked about the houses being built in the 40's to 60's...our  previous house in California was built in the 30's.  I loved it.  My daughter is getting married in October and they chose an 'Antique Wedding House' in Arizona for the ceremony.  Last time we were there to visit we drove by this 'antique'....looked like it was built in the 50's or 60's.  Antique is in the eye of the beholder I guess.

Elaine: You know the golf course is for sale and the Village has a plan to develop it using a TIF?  Dominion was going to develop the new neighborhood a few years ago before they started having their problems and the market changed.

Cyndee: Minerva Park is a pretty little Village, one of the few we have left in Central Ohio. It is totally surrounded by the City of Columbus

Mary: It is green this time of year. Depending on rain and heat most years the grass is dormant (and brown) by the end of the summer.   I did not appreciate mid century homes until quite recently.  Now I think the houses from the 50's and 60's are a lot of fun....
