Get It Done WhetherYou Like It or Not

"Learn to do what ought

to be done,

when it should done,

whether you like it or not."

Roy W. Haley

As I see it. . . . . . . .

Get it done whether you like it or not.

There will be times that we're faced with getting things done.

The question becomes what should be done and when should we do it.

It's not a matter of whether we like what we have to do it or not.

Learn to evaluate the importance of what has to be done before any thing else is done.

The question to ask yourself is what impact doing the task or not doing the task will have on you and your business.

After carful evaluate if your information tells you to move forward. Then move forward with a written plan to accomplish the task.

Form a time line to start and a time line to complete the task

The importance of getting things done should never be influenced by whether we like what has to be done. Judge what has to be done on it's importances.

The adage, "Our level of success is in proportion to our ability to embrace stress (Marshall Sylver)" may very well be true, yet what you (Lou Ludwig) speak of is also true.

I'm finding that the best thing I can do for my business is to become very focused on a particular business plan, then to define the processes required to accomplish all that is required of this plan can become efficient and effective.

Much of this comes from Wallace D. Waddles great book, "The Science of Getting Rich", written in 1910.  I've read it, then created an audio book which I recorded to a CD and listen to while I drive.   That, coupled with the positive affirmations CD of Marshall Sylver's (obtained from the Turning Point Seminar) has dramatically changed my life, just since February.

I'm more confident, more focused, more balanced between work and play.  And I like the idea of your rating system, Lou, probably applied once per week to the list of things to do.   If we add into the mix monthly, quarterly and yearly plans, then we can live a "purpose-driven" life.

Add a Vision Board into the mix and ... somethings that are really good are going to happen!   I think I'm going to click on "Subscribe to Blog" as I like what you've written here, Lou.   All my personal and business best to you!

Most of the "business" stuff is stuff I don't like and don't really want to do...I've stretched way out of my comfort zone on many levels to establish my business.  In a perfect world I could do staging jobs and help people sell their houses without the marketing and networking and all that "business" stuff.  I continue to do what needs to be done, because...it needs to be done.

Lou,

I guess this also means no "whining" while you are doing it, right?

This is one of the reasons, I believe, that the Keller Williams real estate model, has a "power hour " in the a.m. which disciplines you to make your lead gen calls first thing in the moring (most agents hate doing this), and they have you time block on paper so you can see what you are suppose to do. Just gotta adjust the mind and as Nike purports, "DO IT!"

Lou, Of course! simple overlooked wisdom from you again.  Brian Tracy tells a story "if you have to eat a frog, do it first thing in the morning so you don't have to look at it all day" I try to do the worst thing I have to first thing in the morning.

I'm starting to look forward to your blogs.  thanks.
