Monique & Charles:  Yeah, I remember THE BIRDS! Scared the c*$(p outa me as I recall.

This guy wasn't the least bit scary ... or scared of us! He just kept hopping back and forth and looking at us. I dunno what the heck he thought he was doing; of course he probably wanted one of the Cheetos the kids were eating! lol

We seem to be inundated with the daggone things right now though. Every morning about 5:30 or so they get going right outside our bedroom window. They're driving me nuts! (yawn)

Great closeup. BTW, how do you tell a crow from a raven? Do you have to hear them croak "Nevermore?"

Hello Gabrielle,

Thank you for sharing the terrific closeup of the crow.  We have a few crows that come by quite often and visit our wild bird feeding station.  They are pretty big birds!  Again, thanks for sharing the photo with us.  Have a great weekend!

Rita

Rita: Wow! I don't know that I'd encourage crows around here. They're smart, sassy things -- very opportunistic. In fact, we see them chasing the squirrels quite often, just for fun. It's quite a show when the squirrel stands up and puts up a "back off, mister!" defense. I've yet to see a squirrel actually get taken out; it seems to just be a play thing.

Do you think he was lost? I never see one by themselves around here. They travel in herds and their noise can be deafening.

Jim & Maria: "herds!" I love it. That's how they are around here too. No ... I doubt he was lost. There were others. This guy was just curious I guess ...

Looks like this crow was hanging out by the beach.  Perhaps he was unemployed and had nothing else better to do.
