Rita: Wow! I don't know that I'd encourage crows around here. They're smart, sassy things -- very opportunistic. In fact, we see them chasing the squirrels quite often, just for fun. It's quite a show when the squirrel stands up and puts up a "back off, mister!" defense. I've yet to see a squirrel actually get taken out; it seems to just be a play thing.

Do you think he was lost? I never see one by themselves around here. They travel in herds and their noise can be deafening.

Jim & Maria: "herds!" I love it. That's how they are around here too. No ... I doubt he was lost. There were others. This guy was just curious I guess ...

Looks like this crow was hanging out by the beach.  Perhaps he was unemployed and had nothing else better to do.
