Wicked cool link of the day

By

With the millions upon millions of websites and blogs out there, how do you know if someone has plagerized what you've written. Copyscape http://www.copyscape.com/ will search the entire internet and let you know if your site has been copied. You can even check your Active Rain home page to see if that's been copied.

You can also put a copyscape banner on your site that can serve as a warning to others that you will catch them.

Crystal,

It's the best way to catch a thief I know!  And catch them I do. Lousy creeps...

I found two references to my site. They were just links from other sites. It's nice to be able to find out who's stealing your content. I did find a C-21 company in my area that was using key words related to me to steer people to their site. This is against our code of ethics. I reported them (after asking them to remove the content twice) and they have since removed it. The best way to find out who is using you to capture leads off of your good will is by doing a Google search of your name. Then visit the sites that come up and see if it is appropriate.

Kristal Kraft posted this link about a month ago. It's really cool for seeing how many people actually use fake testimonials on their websites, especially Coldwell Banker agents.

Crystal,

Thanks for this link. What an interesting way of keeping your content "unique". I appreciate it!

She did?! Sorry, Kristal. I did a search of blogs on the keyword "copyscape" and nothing came up so I thought it hadn't been talked about before.

Well I'm glad a couple of people caught it this time that missed it the first time around.

Hey Crystal no problem!  There are so many things that are just to good to not share, again and again.  With so many new people there are bound to be repeats and threepeats!

Thanks for sharing!

I love it:

" Wicked Cool link of the day "

I knew you were a fellow "Masshole" immediately!!! (a less than polite term for those of us from MASSachusetts, I think it's funny as hell)
