Blogging With One Hand

By

I often wonder how those of you with families, kids, etc. - or just social lives for goodness sake - are able to post all of the wonderful content that you do.  How on earth do you fit it all in?

For me it's just my cat whom I'm ignoring.  Champ is my good natured, long suffering, endlessly adaptable prince.  His new coping mechanism to try to get some well deserved attention is to curl up in my lap while I'm at my computer.

Blogging is work - and fun - but blogging with one hand - that's another thing all together!

Here's Champer on my lap:

Thanks Ally! He's the love of my life and on my lap as I hunt and peck with the hand he's not sitting on.

Liz - he is a gorgeous cat. We have three. And one, in particular, likes to sit on the keyboard. Try blogging with that on your keyboard.

What a pretty cat.  I always had cats growing up but didn't have them with my own family because of my husband's and children's allergies.  I wish I could have one but my husband won't go for it.

Hello Elizabeth,

Champ is one beautiful cat!  He is gorgeous!  Love his colors and the long hair!  One of my cats really enjoys playing with the keyboard while I type!  I wish he was a lap cat like Champ!

Hi Jeff ~ Too funny! My keyboard is covered with fur and I'm always deleting row after row of gibberish Champ "types" as he walks across.

Hi Vicki ~ I would be crushed if cat allergies ran in my family.  Luckily they don't so we've all got cats.

Hi Rita ~ It's funny - he spends *way* more time in my lap now that I'm perched in front of the computer for so many hours.

Hi Bob and Carolin ~ Thanks!  He really is extraordinary - much more human-like than cat-like - and gorgeous to boot!

Liz:  It appears that Champer is quite the prince !  I wish you could have "lightened up" the picture so we could have seen more of his beautiful colors.  I use Picasa when, and when I take pictures of my Mollie T... it allows me to lighten up pictures that are too dark.  Just a thought.  By the way, it is extremely easy to use... just what I need.  :)

That's hysterical!  I did a post over a year ago about my cat that was laying on my laptop trying to catch my fingers as I typed!  They ARE demanding!  Champ is gorgeous!

Beautiful eyes Liz!  My cat seems to love to get as close to the fan on my laptop as possible so she can burn herself alive!  :)  She likes to be near warm places no matter how hot the actual room temperature is.  Anyway I can relate to the cat taking over as I'm sure many others reading your post can.  :)

Hi Karen ~ That's pretty much just how he looks - he has a black noggin.  I realized one day as I drove past several on the highway median - he looks very much like a goose - black head, white ruff, and lighter bod.  Here he is again - this picture is my desktop image at work - but ha! the eyes are dark in this shot.

Thanks for the tip about Picasa.  I used it for a bit but I couldn't stand the way it organized my images - I could never deal with it.  I hate programs with a mind of their own.  I have really good luck with Irfan but don't do much tweaking of color, etc so will have to give Picasa another whirl.

Hi Joe ~ My brother has a couple of Maine Coon cats (one is featured in a post I did a few days ago) - they're gorgeous cats.

Hi Leesa ~ and they clearly think we're spending too much time at the computer!

Hi Chanda ~ Even in the summer?!  Though come to think of it Champ loves to lie in the sun even on hot days.  You would think with all that fur that they'd be looking for the a/c.

GOOD MORNING LIZ!  What an expression - as if he is sure you are going to blog about him!  Finding time is challenging - especially with kids -- but we have to make the time ... especially to learn to do it with one hand!  Have a wonderful weekend! -- Gabrielle

Liz,

That is one cute cat with pretty blue eyes.  I am glad I finally got to see your cat.   I like the name Champer.   I saw Karen Ann's comment above.  I also use Picasa.  I hope you like this cropped mostly black and white photo of him which draws the attention to his beautiful eyes. If you like it, you can go ahead right click on it and save it on your computer.  My special way of saying thank you for your regular visits to my blog and for all the nice comments.

Hi Gabrielle ~ He definitely has a more serious look than usual in that picture. He's often smiling.

Hi Gerry ~ Oh my goodness that is a mesmerizing photo! Champ has his fan club and I will have to pass it around.  Thank you so much!

Liz

PS - doesn't his little white patch by his nose kill you?  I call it his "birthmark" and tell him he could have been an actor or a movie star if not for that - actually I just think it - I don't say it to him - that would be mean.
