Plano's Asian Grocery Store - Asia World

Plano Texas is known for its diversity. Hence, it offers several Plano TX Asian Grocery store - Asia Worldgood Asian Grocery stores in town. My favorite in Plano is Asia World. It is located near Legacy Drive and US 75 (Central Expressway). It is relatively "new". It offers a good selection of Asian food.

Now, know that "Chinese" grocery can range from the original "Chinese" from mainland China. Yet, Chinese grocery could be different for Taiwanese Chinese, Malaysian Chinese (that's what I am), Indonesian Chinese, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Korean, Japanese, etc. Note: We are not all the same even though I may look "Chinese" but I'm Malaysian. The Chinese food I eat is more "localized" to the South-east Asian - similar to Singaporean food, but unlike Thai food - which then is also different from Vietnamese food. Have I got you all confused yet? Also, you can get a large variety of Asian grocery - including Indian groceries at Asia World.

The prices are good when compared to other Asian groceries in and around Plano. It has a large storefront and it's as big as any other American grocery store. If you feel like cooking Korean BBQ today, you can find all you need from Asia World. If you feel like making some Red Thai Curry, Asia World is your place. All the wonderful Asian snacks can be found at Asia World too. Not forgetting fresh seafood, unique and exotic foods - like pig's tongue, beef stomach and intestines, pork blood. Yes, many of us real Asian eat these kind of food. Not every day of course - as a delicacy.

Wow.  Don't tell my Taiwanese-American daughter-in-law about this place.  I'll end up having to follow my grandson to Texas.

Loreena - now I'm curious...what DO people use soft shell turtles for? I've never heard of turtle being an entree before, but I bet the shells are great for plating the food??? :)

We Chinese eat these type of things. Your guess would be correct if the shell was hard, but this is really soft.

I'm not sure what to make out of it, but perhaps, soft shell turtle soup? Like Monkey's brain soup?

Did I kill your appetite for dinner? Sorreee!

Too funny Loreena! Luckily I didn't get to your reply until just now...and again, I'm wondering - when cooking turtle, is it necessary to use a "slow" cooker? hee hee! get it? slow?

Sorry - bad sense of humor!
