COW BINGO  held at Annual Family Fun Day ---September 12, 2009

Bertram Park ---Saegertown, PA

Proceeds benefit "Caring About Our Community" Charities/ Sponsored by Meadville Area Federal Credit Union

Grand Prize:  $1,000

Yes, this is real bingo game played on a 25 X 25 yard field with real cow.  If the first "PLOP" lands on your plot, you win $1,000.

I found this event advertised on the Credit Union's website and almost fell off my chair I was laughing so hard.  Saegertown is about 45 miles south so I may have to go to see for myself.  I will take pictures & post them here.

Actually, I've experienced this more than once.  I've even provided the cow for the event in my former life as a dairy farmer!  The only issue is that when the cow comes off the trailer, he/she usually poops and then nothing happens for awhile when they get to the field with the plots.  It's fun, a great fundraiser but it can be boring waiting for the cow to perform.

Oh my gosh, Mary.  I've never actually been to a cow bingo but I have heard about them.  Several towns in the surrounding area have dairy farms on them.  I think it would be hilarious (and possibly profitable) to go to one.  I'm gonna have to keep my eye out for one in my neck o' the woods.

Paul & Diane--I guess I am just the city girl who never heard of cow pie bingo before.  My mother was one fo ten kids who grew up on farm, but my country cousins had a lot of fun at our expense during family gatherings.  I am glad to learn more about cow bingo.  Thanks.

Heather--That's right you are a bingo enthusist!  Yes, you will have to add this to you list of 'must dos.'  Let us know what it is like from a player's point of view.  From Paul's description maybe it's boring if the cow doesn't perform for the crowd.

Soooo, do you have to "tip" the cow for it's services? (LOL)

Years ago I went to the same event only with a chicken in a 10'x10' pen. Can't wait to see your pics too!

Marvin--It's good to hear from you again.  Hope all is going well with new venture.

A chicken--I guess--there is no limit to what the imagination can dream up.

Debra--I hope I can keep a straight face while taking the pictures and not laugh too hard.

Judy--Nice to see you again. And laugh I did. I looked at that cow, flipped to another site and just had to come back.  Then I (devil made me) wrote the post.

Carole--Me, too.  I have only been to one bingo game with young woman my brother was engaged to, but didn't end up marrying.  It was fun, but not my preferred entertainment.

Yes, I will post pictures if we attend this fundraiser.  I know many of the real estate agents in Saegertown & surrounding area as most of them have taken real estate classes from me over the years.

Susan--Tipping cows is a whole other story one I had only heard about from my farm cousins.  Guess you can sneak up on them while they are sleeping and tip them over.  Like cow bingo I have never experienced tipping cows either.

Irene--I think we are definitely the city girls amongst AR.  Next time I see my country cousins who no longer live on farms, I will ask them about this type of bingo.

Jim & Maria--From your comment and a few others I am finding out this cow bingo and chicken bingo is somewhat common as a fundraiser activity.

Today I was wondering how I would convince my Hubby to drive to Cow Bingo on Sept 12th.  I don't think I have any girl friends that would be interestd either.  Bummer.  Anyone want to go with me???

This is great Mary - I"ve never heard of cow bingo either.  Way too funny. That must be a blast of a fundraiser.  Good luck on that!

Anna & Carra--I thought it was so funny, too, however I am not sure I can get my Hubby to go with me.  Maybe I can bribe him.

Carra--I am glad you started a group called Cosmic Cow Pie, a perfect place for this post.
