Worthington won

City of Worthington signIn a poll in The Other Paper, which was called 'This, That or The Other', Worthington won.  It was in the category of Places,  Worthington vs. Upper Arlington and Worthington won.

People could have voted for another place (The Other), a write in for example for Westerville or Dublin or Massey's Pizza...The Other Paper said someone wrote in Massey's Pizza often and despite the category?  Massey's Pizza is a PLACE isn't it?  A number of places.   Not sure it got written in for suburb type places though like Worthington and Upper Arlington.

Worthington got one of the longest write ups of any of the winners in any of the contests but it says it  was a close "race."

From  Take That!

"The race between Worthington and Upper Arlington was the closest in the This, That or the Other poll’s “Places” category. UA lost to Worthington by 6 percentage points.

Founded in 1803, historic downtown Worthington remains home to a thriving business and cultural scene. Summer nights find the street’s patios packed—with restaurant and bar goers lounging at Irish Pub PK O’Ryan’s, local wine shop House Wine, La Chatelaine or Old Bag of Nails. High schoolers and little league teams congregate at Graeter’s ice cream shop.

Today, the original downtown quarter is complemented by a number of distinct neighborhoods ranging from the idyllic post-World-War II single family homes nestled in Colonial Hills to the modern masterpieces in the Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired Rush Creek neighborhood.

None of this is to suggest hat (that?)  Upper Arlington lacks character or history—but to the suburban victor go the media spoils."

Worthington won - Other places

The Short North beat Grandview, German Village beat Clintonville and Goodale Park beat Schiller Park.

There were lots of other 'This, That or The Other' polls... people, radio stations, theaters, businesses, restaurants, bars, pizzas,  burgers.  Channel 10's Chuck Strickler won in a contest betwenn Cabot Rea and Jerry Revish.  Chuck Strickler got the most write in votes in the poll.

Graeter's beat Jeni's?

I love Graeter's and Worthington does not have a Jeni's but every suburb should.

The results of the polls were in the August 20, 2009 edition of The Other Paper.   I saw the poll did not take it.  Not sure why.
