A Bit of old Eau Gallie History...

The orginal building for the Second Advent Church situated in old Eau Gallie, Florida still sits at the corner of 1598 Highland Avenue.

Melbourne Florida History

Can you imagine, back in 1914 there were only 30 church members?

Adventist Christian Church

Today, this old church building serves as St. Paul's Thrift Store.

I love shopping for a deal. You never know what kind of bargain you'll find when you go in there.

They carry clothes, shoes. belts, bags, dolls, toys, nick nacks, pictures, books and so much more.

They have a shed out back with some miscellaneous pieces of furniure.

Donations are welcome.

Their hours are Monday thru Saturday, 10:00 to 4:00.

I always put my clients first in any transaction!

The history of some of these buildings is inspiring to what our homes will represent in the future...
Thanks for making my Wednesday,

Great little bit of history Sandy!  Too bad the first service in 1948 only had 5 members in attendance!! Hopefully that improved as time went on :-)

Sandy, Every once in a while I'll stop at a thrift store.  I once came upon a Shirley Temple doll for $5.00.  You NEVER know what you're going to find is right.

Paul, Oh, I love old buildings and the history behind them, especially in my own town. It would be interesting in the future to see what our homes may represent in the future. Great point!

Mary, Wow, how times have changed? Isn't it amazing that there were only 5 members in attendance. Today we are blessed to have churches all around us, and they are spilling with people.

Hi Gary, It is an old building for here in Florida, isn't it.  It's small, well cared for inside and quite charming. It looks like time has been good to it over the years.

Carole, Wow, what a great find - a Shirley Temple doll for $5 - that's amazing.  I love finding old 'treasures' in thrift stores. You never know what you'll come out with.

Hi Pat, Well you Carole and I could head out for some thrift store shopping. Sounds like a grand time.
