What's happening this first unofficial Autumn Weekend in Chicago?

Our Team Member Sue Moss provides a rundown.

Here is Friday's line-up -

The Fifth Annual Windy City Wine Festival held at the Daley Bicentennial Plaza (337 E. Randolph Street).  Available for sampling will be over 250 wines from across the world.  Live music by the Michael Heaton Band, seminars, cooking demonstrations and more will wrap up on Saturday.  Click here for ticket information and times.

The Harvest Fest in the Roscoe Village neighborhood (1900 W. Belmont Avenue) will feature live music, carnival rides, games and more for a $5 donation.  This Fest runs through Sunday.  Click here for your live music line-up as well as Fest times.

The 89th Annual German-American Festival in the Lincoln Square neighborhood (4700 N Lincoln Avenue) will feature a variety of German favorites such as sauerkraut, brats, smoked sausages and German cakes, as well as folk dancers, live music and more.  This Festival runs through Sunday as well.  So click here to get more details.

Saturday's line-up -

The 7th Annual Renegade Craft Fair 2009 over on Damen Avenue and Division Street in the East Village/Ukrainian Village neighborhood, which will host over 300 local, national and international artists through Sunday.  Click here for times and more information.

The 13th Annual Celtic Fest Chicago held in Grant Park (300 S. Columbus Drive) will once again bring us Celtic dance, music and traditions through Sunday.  Features of this Fest include arts and crafts, food and beer vendors and more.  Obtain the live music line-up as well as times of this event by clicking here.

The West Loop Block Party at 2 S. Aberdeen Street will run from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a 3:00 p.m. performance by the U2 tribute band Vertigo USA for those of you who weren't able to get tickets to the U2 concert being held at Soldier Field on Saturday (sold out) and Sunday (search TicketNetwork for any available tickets).  For more info on the block party, click here.

The 44th Annual Von Steuben Parade, which is part of the annual German-American Festival, kicks-off at 2:00 p.m. from Lincoln Avenue and Irving Park Road and continues north to Lawrence Avenue.

The Mexican Independence Day Parade, which is a celebration of Mexico's independence from Spanish rule, kicks-off at 11:00 a.m. from Columbus and Balbo Drives and continues north to Monroe Street.

Last but not least, the Sixth Annual Mutt Strut is from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. over at 3200 N. Hoyne Avenue in the Roscoe Village neighborhood.  Dogs and their owners will take a 1.5 mile walk followed by a block party with plenty to eat, live music, vendor booths and more.  Also includes a gift bag and event T-shirt.  Click here for further details.

Here is the Line-Up for Sunday -

The 26th Street Mexican Independence Day Parade which kicks-off at Noon at 26th Street and Albany Avenue continuing west to Kostner Street.  It's a very festive parade with mariachi bands, folk dancers and many floats.
