ARE YOU PREPARED FOR A NATURAL DISASTER?

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Capital Partners Realty 277320

As I viewed the news of the floods in the south, my thoughts turned to a little over on year ago. Hurricane Ike came roaring up the midlands states, causing huge wind damage and hold us with out power for 4 days. Boy, running to find ice for the refrigerator, darkness at 8;00 pm and using candles were a real life experience.

How prepared are you for such an act of nature? Got flashlights, batteries poratabe radios?

Something to think about and remind you clients about.

Living in southeast Houston for many years, we learned to be prepared from June through October for those tropical storms and hurricanes.  Now living in Indiana, I've realized that I've become a bit lazier about being prepared in the event of a disaster.  I wonder if I am too comfortable,

I must admit since I moved to Dallas from the Houston area I am not as prepared as I once was.  I don't even have a flash light that works.

I grew up in Houston close to the gulf and we always had an emergency box with water, food, flashlights, NOAA radio, extra batteries, change of clothes, perscriptions and all important document:insurance, credit card info, birth certificates etc. I still have an emergency box, as you just never know.
